Magura Hose Splitting

i was just wondering how many times people have snapped their magura hoses at the point where the hose joins the slave pistons???? i know i have a couple of times and my mate i ride with has many many times.

we have come up with a way of protecting the hose so it is not under any stress but we were wondering if it is worth making the product and selling it .

this post is to see if it is not just us that ruptures our hoses in this place and others.

thanks for reading hope you can help

I use to have that problem, especially on my old t-pro, but i have never actually snapped a hose, but i have had a couple on the verge of snapping (had large folds in them). But they were on the rear, so i just put a brake booster on so i don't hit them anymore, problem solved (Y) I think it was because i kept hitting them with my foot, so when the booster was on it protected it.

Whats your idea to protect the hoses, providing you don't mind anyone knowing?

i hate it when this happens, mainly on my side hops this happens when i slip down of the wall, but ive learnt now, ive used tape where it kept splitting to prevent this happening again.

its worked so far lol.. but where the tape is there scracthes on it so this maybe a good thing if the tape want there this could of been my hosing......

Yeppos... I've done it once...

Put a booster on and never again though :-

EDIT: And Wright Pads, please explain about your "dual hosing" - I'm intrigued now... a photo would be handy if it's complicated too ^_^

I've popped plenty of pipes, never actually snapped one though.

I mainly popped them either when I was learning sidehops or when I was wheelswapping......

Haven't popped one in a while now though.... But I have knocked the screw that goes into the piston causing it to leak out water. But I soon solved it :)

1: Get sum black tape (any tape really) and wrap it around the bottom of the cross over pipe

OR

2: Buy braided hosing....My friend uses normal piping going up the frame but braided hosing for the cross over pipe....

Its real good....brake doesn't feel spongy either!
