Had a look on tarty and was amazed to see so many people using the pro 2...is it because they have better warranty or maybe because they come is more colours.

Just wondered because the american classic seemed lighter for a better price!

Cheers

Shit product knowledge but being told the Hope Pro2 had better bearings sealed the deal for me :) (That and it came in 32H and silver ;)). Hope's Hope though, you know you're getting a good product (generally :-), whereas people's experiences with AC seem a bit sketchier?

with the american classic there isnt an axle as such, it has more like spacers. that is why it is light and thats why it reccomends using a quick release, because the hub couldnt take bolts. also stan shaw had an american classic and the disc mounts bowed in on it so it bent his rotor round the mount (wierd i know). these reasons are why people use hubs like the pro2 because it is a pretty light weight hub, which is good quality and is mega reliable with great performance.

the pro 2's dont use an axle either :-

they are light and come in many colcours and the bearings are second to none for a front hub

secound to chris king medical grade stainless bearings which can last up to 20 years

from experience hope bearinsg tend to last around 4 years from general xc use, and hope use INA bearings in their hubs, and it just so happens thats im an engineer for INA bearings :-
