I'd say Ryan Leech. The way he can link moves without correction hops does it for me. To have as much control as he does. Like in Manifesto, riding on the rails and his balancing is something that i would like to try and achieve, although i'll never be anywhere near as good. Also the PR he does for trials, all the shows for Norco and the dvds that help beginners like me. Gives out a good image for trials. So he's probably my main idol.

Also the two Martyns, who do/did a lot for trials in the UK. Tricks and stunts both help loads with techniques and also if you see them in the flesh, they are fun and tend to help out if you have any questions.

Those are the sorts of styles that i like to look up to. I see a lot of sports people who feel they are above everyone else, not in trials but in larger sports, who unless theres some paparazzi around will shrug you off. But those in the trials community seem to be more welcoming, maybe because it's a smaller sport or because there's less money in it.

Loads of people say ryan leech, personally I dont find his riding particularly mindblowing. Sorry about that a little :offtopic:.

Sure he can't sidehop as high or gap as far as some, but his riding is more flowing and it is good to watch. I know it's your opinion, and this is mine.

Personally i think that trials these days has become more on who can get higher or further, but i like to see more technical riding, which is why i'm also into bmxing, i guess they just go hand in hand.

I would say the most influential riders on me have been:

TRA (the first time I saw really BIG riding)

Martin and Martyn (mostly from Tricks and Stunts)

V-Dub and Super-T in the JIB film (not much trials but I loved it)

Matt Berridge/the Boon (really stylish riding on a trials bike)

The Trialmedia stuff

In no particular order.

Ryan Leech - just because he's got alien skills!

Von "V-Dub" Williams - because he rides BIG trials on a DH bike! (check the 30-odd foot drop to tranny in 'Third Down')

Martin Hawyes - always riding in the shadow of Martyn Ashton (and normally talked about in the same sentence!) but i'd love to see more from him - more recent riding

Stephen Dickin (from TrialsStars.com) - i just really like his riding and vids

Hmm, well when i first started i watched alot of Martyn Ashton's videos and from then on he inspired me alot. But same as most people, riders such as CLS, Ryan leech also has to be a popular idol.

But most of all riding with mates just idols yourself to ride more!
