Alex.loves.boys
yo i got some koxx forks of a mate yesterday and he put my avid on for me. the only problem, my wheel doesn't spin, i've tried using the little red adjuster but this makes no difference, even though its not broke. i'm sure i herd that try-all forks can only take 180 rotors? but he was running a 160 on it and his was fine? is there another way of setting it up differently? thanks

And if it’s just one what one is it? I had this with my juicy 7, but just put some washers in with the calliper mounting bolts to push the calliper over, and it sorted it.Let me know those things and ill do my best to help you out Anf. Oddball
its a bb7 i thinkloland i think its both, surely it cant just be one, i have to put effort in to actually spin my wheel, the washer sounds good, but where the hell does it go?thanks for your helpHmm well as its both I doubt the calliper is out of line, the reason the washer thing worked with me was because my calliper was off centre so they just pushed it over.Have you tried releasing the leaver adjuster right down then taking the wheel off, and getting a flat blade screw driver in between the pads and prising the pads apart to get the pistons back in to there original place? If you do, do this, be VERY careful with the screwdriver thing, as the pads are made of some weird stuff that crumbles if your to ruff with it.I don’t really know what to suggest other than this mate. Let me know how it goes, and ill rack my brain for some more ideas : D Anf.Edit: Bugger, just realised it’s a BB7 and isn’t hydraulic :$ sorry mate. Davetrials
Erm koxx forks only allow 180mm disc, hence the tryall hope brake..i think?
ManxTrialSpaz
Make sure the caliper's tightened properly, if it's not, it could be crooked in the mounts which causes it rub.If it is indeed both pads:I'm guessing the little red adjuster thing is the TPA? If that doesn't do any thing, it's broken, or it's major malfunction in the installing disc brake department.Or you could always try a longer cable and see if that releases the pads?*Solutions provided by someone that's never looked closely a cable disc brake so is making his judgements on general brake technology and his know about vee brakes...Which isn't very much either. Dan Clark
Do Koxx still have the weirdo disc mounts? For example, the first batch had a +30mm mount, do they still have something similar?
Gavyn.
i don't think the red thing makes any difference to where the pads are it just changes the lever feelis it a cable disk or hydro if its hydro make sure no one pulled the lever while the rotor was out
Joe Papasnap Maher
i don't think the red thing makes any difference to where the pads are it just changes the lever feeltHe red knobs move the pads in and out
JT!
Depends which red knob your talking about. The one on the SD 7 leaver alters the amout of cable being pulled. ANd the red knobs on the actually brake ajust the pads. The avid BB7 is one of the most ajustable brake pad out there. If the disc is rubbing on the pads, it's should be easy to stop, just re-set it up using the link above, it's very easy to do.However if the rotor is too big and it's rubbing on the top of the caliper, then you have a real problem. JT!
There's no need to get a new rotor if it's only rubbing on the pads. That can be solved easily. Also, make sure you haven't got any ajustment on the ajuster barrel on your leaver. You should only use that to take up the cable slack, and shouldn't not be used to ajust the bit point.Again, if you re-set it up it'll be fine.
