-*lewis*-
Hey... i was just wondering what do you wear when you are riding mostly your pants and shoes, do they help you?Obviously something like tracksuit bottoms help compared to jeans, any other recomendations would be greatful! thanks, Lewis
Synergy
i always used to wear jeans when riding but found that van cargo trousers type of things were often comfy. your right with the trackies they are awesome to ride in but also when its good weather long shorts are good aswell.as for shoes i used to think wearing vans was brilliant but i bought a pair of ribos and now i wouldnt wear vans while riding what so ever. to be honest if you want good shoes by the try-all ones they look a lot better and chunkeir but the shoes are quite expensive
Alex.loves.boys
i've found that traccies make me sidehop higher hahana, they are very comfy to ride in where as jeans arnt and if it rains jeans go really heavy and horrid.

Chris Elson
I dont think i could wear jeans when riding they seem to stiff lol , i like something loose like trackie bottoms , also i am thinking of maybe buying a sort of football shirt , not a acutally football shirt but something that material, becuase they are light and keeps you cool. A!!
In hot weather shorts and a t-shirt made from a thin material so they don't soak up your sweat, and if it is really hot, wear white clothing so it keeps you cool. Other than that tracksuits are good as they are light weight, anything that isn't to heavy and tight really. I did used to ride in skate shoes (emerica ones), but i decided to try some trials shoes out. They do help a lot as you can get a good feel of the pedals and they have a good grip because it's a pretty soft sole they use. I don't know about any other trials shoes but my YIK ones ripped up pretty quickly and the rubber sole came apart from the foam beneath it, so i ended up using glue to patch them up. If you do get any holes in them then this stuff is pretty good: shoe goo Recently though i have gone back to using skate shoes, to try and conserve the little life that is left in my trials shoes, as i can't really afford any new ones at the moment. Danny Kearns
It varies with me, sometimes its black jeans, sometimes its 3/4 lengths, sometimes its tracksuit bottoms.Shoe wise, i used to ride in lacoste trainers, but just recently i have just brough a pair of "dc pure's" and oh my god my riding has improved much more, du to the fact that they are alot more comfy and alot more grippy. But i feel most comftable in 3/4 lenths but it has to be really hot for me to be wearing them.Dan. max-t
id say trakkies are the best to wear because they are lighter cooler more flexable and generally allow more movement than what jeans do..shorts are also good because the are light and when your tucking up on moves they dont go over your knees and restricting momentum ..and 3/4 are good too...i usually go for the ones with zippy pockets in um so i can keep my house keys in ther without loosing them and they offer the same advantages as trakkies really but are just cooler to wear (in the temperature sense)max...... Jay@BBT
I normally wear Jeans, or boardies.. I never thought about using boardies 'til my mum bought me some (haha) and i thought they were amazing! Although i wouldn't recommend using them on a seated bike, as once i rode someone elses bike (with a mini seat), and i tried to jump off the back, but got caught up and landed on my elbows Normally a tank top or light t-shirt too for the top..I have used K-swiss trainers and they're shocking.. the bottom rips to shreds!I've found that My Old DC's were the best for comfort and feeling, but were a tad on the heavy side.. Although I have heard nothing but good things on the orchid shoes and SourceBmx.com have a sale on where they are all £20! These are all bmx and casual wear shoes too so everyones a winner!Jay
trials_mad
I always where shorts as jeans tend to get caught in my freewheel and it is a pain in the arse and on a hot day you feel much cooler in shorts The main problem with wearing shorts is if you slip the peddle you have no protection on your shins or anything

fezza
trakis are good but i much prefer jeans as they give you much more protection and are longer lasting. shoes wise, i ride with dc's but i used to use try-all's before i grew out of them. try-alls are really grippy and dont look too bad. they also give good ankle support
Tommy d
For shoes I always just wear whatever is the oldest I have around, so the sole is thin and I can feel the pedal better. Anything new doesn't feel flexible enough and I can't tell if my feet are right in the pedals.I also wear shin pads under some baggy trousers, although I seem to be about the only person who does... I got the message after a few nice shin scars appeared.

ramps
Usually jeans, mainly because I dont own a pair of trackie bottoms and partly because I worship jeans! I do like to ride in shorts but I dont have many and i allways end using em on the xc bike so they are just thrown streight back into the wash. My shoes vary,I have four pairs of shoes I ride in:2 Pairs of duffs, one pair is used more than the other1 Pair of oold vans, they used to be used all the time but are a bit too crusty from all the xc abuse they get1 Pair of Hugo Boss trainer type things, the grip they off is amazing the bottom of then is very thin and is just horizontal groves all the way accross but its rare I wear these as they look a bit daft.
