Can Your Weight Affect Your Riding?

I would say that a person of heavier weight who is not fat will be just as able as someone lighter.

I am saying this because muscle weighs three times more than fat so if someone if naturally heavier or work out they will be heavier in muscle therefore still in proportion to their overall body weight, so in theory will still be able to throw the bike about. If someone is heavy due to fat they are disadvantaged obviously. And a thin person will be disadvantaged if they have a lower body weight but no muscle therefore they are out of proportion but the average thin guy would be fine.

So i'd say as long as you healthy and not overweight due to fat or under-nourishment you'll be fine either way.

And to lose weight: Eat healthily, excercise and sleep a lot! But only if you were overweight due to fat, you can put on weight in muscle and become healthier.

To put on weight: Eat high protein foods, and get in the gym!

I'm starting to confuse myself now, but hope that makes sense :S

In my opinion

weight, size, height matter not

because trials bikein is a skill

and everyone in the world is different

so we all learn the skill in a different way

*might be simular*

but i dout its exacly the same

skills are developed depending on the person

everyone has their own styles or learning styles

so

if your heavy- probley means you have to put more power in your kicks

if your big - might mean you can move the bike easyer

there loads of different things or angles you can look at it

so the answer to your question is no

your phyiscal form doesnt effect your rideing

what does though is if you can be ARSED to put you effect in to it (Y)

I know very good thin riders.

I know very good medium riders.

I know very good fat riders.

I think trials is more down to technique and strength than anything else, so weight shouldnt really make any

difference as long as you are as proportionaly strong.

what about tall and heavy

I'm 5' 6" and weigh 7 and a half stone....Most of my weight is from my huge penis and my bones (jokes about the bones) suppose im sort of muscley.

zoo baby!

Lol. yeah you sound it (Y) . i think trials is alot to do with muscles to some people, since ive got bigger my ridings improved loads im 6 foot and nearly 12 stone. last year i was alot smaller and weighed loooooads less and i was really rubbish. it mite all be in my mind but whatever it is getting bigger definately helps my riding

:o Was that meant in a mean matter...if so.....I'm hurt....ask anybody who has seen me and they will agree there isn't a bit of fat on me (exaggeration) I suppose the bigger you are...muscular-ness wise...The easier it is for you to chuck the bike about, although i suppose somebody who is tiny height wise but is built like a brick sh*t house isn't too handy.

zoo baby!

I think for trials though it is a different type of muscle type that is needed, so having large amounts of weight lifting muscle won't be useful for trials as it is a fast and slow twitch muscle fibre that is needed (correct me if i'm wrong). But i suppose it helps having a more dense muscle fibre instead of a big bulky mass of it.

I don't think it really does matter about how heavy you are, but if it is excessive weight i can only suppose it isn't going to help as you loose some agility, making it harder to tuck in for hops.

I was reading an article about something like this but in a superbike magazine, it did bring up a point that spending lots of money on light weight parts for your bike isn't really worth it when you can loose the most weight from yourself for free, very different sport i know but still a fair point.
