M-i-t-c-h
For my A-level Business Coursework i have to make a business plan, i though .... will make one for an indoor trials park, but there are a couple of problems i have stumbled across e.g: finding good amounts of secondary info about setting up a trials park is practically impossible because as far as i know it hasn't been done commercially. All my mates are dragging reams and reams of info off t'internet and wacking it into a work document and i have very little so far.I have done the primary research with questionnaires and so forth ( i say "done" iv filled a few out with different hand writing and made it look like a few different people have filled em out) but i need another source, i was wondering.... has anybody undergone a similar project, in real life or for coursework? do you have any info? or could point me in the right direction? please. Thanks guys.P.s from the information i have gathered so far, prices of warehouse space, council grants etc, its looking kind of feasible, i may be in the near future be posting some real questionnaires, gather some real information, it would be in the dorset/hampshire area, iv been looking in the Bournemouth area, found some warehouse space very close to a train station for a fairly cheap rent. its only in the begging stages at the moment, if anybody has any suggestions or wants to point out any crucial floors in the project, please don't hesitate to reply.thanks again guys. PaRtZ
Biggest flaw = InsuranceMight be worth looking at bmx parks and phoning them up and asking them what sort of insurance they use how much it costs etc.Once you've got that sorted, Im guessing you'd want to set it up as a private company, write down that you'll register your company at cooperate house etc.bah i dno, i got D at AS level
bikerbob
I would try BMX skateparks and see what their setup is, ofcourse advertising would be a big part in its success I suppose, unless you went to a trials club and did questionnaires within the club to see the level of interest. Many people ride mostly street. The one idea which came to mind but it not neccecarily relavent is Scarborough DMC.http://www.scarboroughdmc.co.uk/new/Scarborough and district motor club own an old army training camp (Low North Park) and when you become a member of the club you can pay extra to purchase a key for the year. To enter you need to be with someone who has a key or have a key yourself, and you must have a pass shown clearly on your bike.Insurance for them is not a problem since all members are members of the ACU and therefore insured. Is there a similar organisation for bike trials which insures you for injury at approved events?Bob
M-i-t-c-h
You can get it much cheaper if you become your own biketrials club... get it though the ACU, that was my cunning plan anyway.
Matt_Tupman
You can get it much cheaper if you become your own biketrials club... get it though the ACU, that was my cunning plan anyway. You may find cheaper insurance but for the price you won't find anything that covers both the organiser and rider for up to £5 million thats how good the ACU is.I'd try and introduce a system were everyone using the park must be ACU regesteried and you can even get one day memberships so that would cover that problem.Worth a look in.
