_skj0lsvik_
Thanks But is theire anyone who can tell me how the short is to ride? Are they superflicky etc. The headangle is 70,5' which is pretty slack compared to other frames..
spode@thinkbikes
I love mine. With my fatties I ended up with a 1060 wheel base. I ride in a very flicky style. I moved from my Orange Zero and my style hasn't changed a bit now that I'm used to it. I'm just editing a video at the moment of it actually, as I've realised there is nothing of me on my KOT yet and I've been riding one for a while now! (pics on the site). mintsauce
Absolutely love my KOT MS-2 short. Best 'pure' trials bike I've ever owned.Doesn't feel that 'short' to me but maybe that's because I spend a lot of time on a 1m wheel base Leeson 24"Pics are on my site:s l o w p r o g r e s s - Bikes PagePeaceBarlow
spode@thinkbikes
Dude, our bikes are very very similar. I bet you could jump on mine and feel identical!
AdamR28
The head angle of the Short MS2 (72) is actually steeper than the long version (70.5) - this is where the difference in wheelbase comes in.We've listed them as 'normal' long and short frames on our site so not to confuse people though! spode@thinkbikes
I'm no expert on this. But wouldn't the head angle just change the wheel base? Or does it affect other things too.
AdamR28
But wouldn't the head angle just change the wheel base? That's right. So the frames are 'Long' and 'Short', but the actual reach from BB to head tube is still the same. This is different to how other manufacturers do it - they add/subtract some from the top and down tubes and keep the head angle the same. _skj0lsvik_
Nice, thanks for all the good comments! This is just what I needed to go for it =)And Adam, expect to see a order from me in a few weeks
spode@thinkbikes
ewww, 70.5 degree! so the reach on the short one is actually longer then?Hmm. Perhaps Adam got them the wrong way around. Or the way the angles are measured is different to how I/we expect.
Bobby
My mate had a KOT MS2 but the long version and that didn't last him very long before it snapped He was doing big stuff on it though so thats probably why.

spode@thinkbikes
So is the red 70.5 degrees? That's what the confusion was over, which way round it was. Where is the angle measured from?
Tom Booth
Nah, the blue is 70.5 The anlges measured from the forks off the ground isnt it?
_skj0lsvik_
This sounds like a smart design.. But the long version wont feel long though, maybe bad for the "long-style" peeps around here. Ohh, I cant wait till I get mine.
_skj0lsvik_
To you guys who has this frame:Does the frame really much? I've just been reading a old thread about this and I'm just wondering if your brake drags when you pedal hard or something?Would a strong booster help this problem?Anyway, thanks. AdamR28
A little late but I've not been able to get on here since yesterday...[attachmentid=6623]A good wheelbuild and good brake setup sorts out any 'problems' people may have with the KOTs. I certainly had no problems with mine -> http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index....showtopic=78836CheersAdam
Greetings
ewww, 70.5 degree! so the reach on the short one is actually longer then? That's true. On the short one, the stem will be at a different angle resulting in lower bars and longer reach. Crazy

Gaz M
Dunno if it's relevant because looking at the head angle etc it should be harder to bunnyhop the short then the long if im thinking right and im riding a long i can bunnyhop it with ease and its 1100 so if the shorts 1060 i cant imagine it being too hard. spode@thinkbikes
I find it a little hard to bunny hop, but I think that's just the nature of a high BB. You get used to it.
