Barbra
Well after i bent my old rotor, ive been riding my bike for a while, but i left the brake on the bike (even though i had no rotor) and a few times i pressed it accidently. Now ive got a new rotor, hopo mono trial 160mm it rubs against the pads. Ive looked down at the pads and one side sticks further in than the other, and won't push back into place where it should be, to give the disc enough clearance not to rub. Would bleeding the disc sort this problem?
JonCongreve
I'm sure someone can give a better explanation but....as it is an open system (i think) when you push the lever when there is no rotor in beteween the pistons, the pads will move out and stay there. All you need to do is take the rotor out, and use a small scredriver the seperate the pads/pistons apart, so they are back to normal. It's best to take your pads out, so when seperating the pads, you don't damage them Hope i've helped
Barbra
oh yea, i get you mate, i'll give that a go when i get my freewheel off. Which is the biggest pain in the arse ever. Halfrauds couldn't even do that with the actual tool
ben
if you have done a sketchy bleed like me where you basicaly fill the resivoir up then open it as you cant push the pistons back as the systems full if that makes sence to you. it might also just be a spacering problem 9i take it you have a shim set) or maby the forks need faceing hope do it kit but i think there quite expensive so id get a bike shop to do it we have one at our halfords hope that was some help.ben
Synergy
if its one side thats rubbing why dnt you get a washer on the disc mounts on the forks to push the side over a bit more so the disc is a more central area inbetween the pads? 26inch
you should just be able to push the pistons back, use a tire lever or something
