Avid Juicy5/bb7

Hey guys, I decided to sell that hope mini as it was completely wrong for my forks, so I’m now looking for an avid juicy5 or bb7, I was just wondering what one would be the best? And how much are they worth? As I don’t want to spend way over what I should be!

Also, if any of you guys have one of these to and are selling it then... I think you know what I’m getting at :- (sorry if I’m not allowed to put this here :$ )

Thanks, Anf.

The BB7 would be best I'm sure, although I've not heard anything about anyone using the Juicy5 for trials. I have a Juicy 7 and it's about comparable with a BB7 in terms of power, maybe the BB7 is slightly more powerful. The Juicy feels nicer though.

As for price - I paid £50 for the BB7 caliper + disk + pads (no lever or cable) brand new, but I think that was a pretty good price and I've not seen any that cheap since. So I think you're looking at £60-70 for a new one these days. If someone is selling one second hand it means that it's not working properly and you should avoid it ;) But probably £30-40 at a complete guess.

P.S. Just curious: How was the mini wrong for your forks?

Ah great thanks mate, I’ve just ordered a juicy 7 for £50, brand new, witch is pretty good I thought (Y) and the reason the mini didn’t fit was because I had a number 6 calliper and there only for boxxer forks, and I had a 203mm rotor, and would need adaptors or something?

Thanks for the reply, and info dude.

eBay, a guy that’s sells them lives and works about 15 minutes away from me so I rang him up and knocked him down on the price, and I’m going to pick it up so ill save on P+P to :P

as long as you get IS mount to post mount conversion then it will yes....the actual avid caliper uses post mount.

make sure you get a strong 203mm rotor though, my 185 is sufficient at the moment having gone down from a 203mm which generally seems to bend alot and scuff :(
