PaRtZ
Well due to a f*ck up at winstanleys i decided to buy these tensioners:[attachmentid=6546]First thoughts:They're not as shiny as they appear everywhere. Also the 2 tensioning bolts seem slightly too thin for my liking. They wont snap too soon mind, just could do with being thicker. The tensioners come complete with a small allen key for tightening the bolts up with, and then a 9mm nut on the locking nuts to stop them from undoing (You dont get a 9mm though )Getting em on:They fit my zona perfectly. Only slight criticism is the two bolts could have done with being further apart so they hit the end of the dropout better. Also it seems somehow I've bent my drivside one already Function:Really good. My onza tugs seemed to slip every so often bringing my chain too loose, but somehow these have stuck in position and hold it greatly The allen key too is the perfect size because whilst tightening it doesn't hit the spokes too much. They're pretty damn light too...Other:Maybe not such a good choice for riders who bash their dropouts alot (like me) because of the length of the things: mine currently stick out about 15mm out of the end of my dropout. In terms of width wise however they're great, nice compact size but not fiddly. Overall the strength and the aesthetics have let it down and I have a feeling I might have to keep my onza tugs as a sparePaRtZ gives it: 7/
Mark W
Pretty pricey? If the bolts are sticking out too far, why not trim some off the dropout end of the bolts, so the heads sit nearer to the body? The body will still stick out far, but the bolts themselves won't which may help them live a little longer.
PaRtZ
Pretty pricey?I wouldn't say so. I can see where the £17 has been spent but its just not been spent in the right ways imoIgnore that bit, i was being an retarded :$ Edited August 19, 2006 by PaRtZ
Mark W
Yeah, I mean they're obviously more pricey to manufacture than the "lollipop" style ones, but I just meant they were what I'd consider pricey for a pair of chaintugs. If you've got the dorrah though

TheMunn
Some one laced your wheel up wrong too Spokes are supposed to go over over over before going under. Anyway, the tensioners, personally I don't like how they stick out so far, i've cut my normal style bmx tensioners right down. They look okay with the blue though. poopipe
shiny.i'd be more than a little concerned about them getting caught on stuff and snapping off though - that's an awful lot of sticky-outness right there
Si-man
http://www.alansbmx.com/product_info.php?c...0da1406cb88d239These are what you want Come with 2 different length bolts aswell (well the demolition ones i got did, same ones)
PaRtZ
Slight update:They're crapIll get some pictures soon but because of the great forces theyve been put under, the two bolts on the drive side have actually started to cut, 2 bolt sized trenches into my dropout. Whats more, because they bent, these trenches head to the edge of the dropout meaning that when I do tension them, they just bend more and make the chain slacker So I'm going back to normal "Lollipop" dealios now
Dan6061
I have some Guesset ones on my Zip.They do the job, although the 'plates' have gotten bent from the silly shape of the CNC'd dropouts. But yeah, s'alright I guess. GuyJames
Snail cams ***. You might not have the little bolts on your frame therefore have been forced to use those ones, but for everyone else...Fresh Products £8, no looking back. Nice review though. Caleb
you should of cut the bolts right down, thus putting less pressure on the tensioners.they may still be salvageable, whack em in the vice on the quiet
