$IL3NT.
yes people say get some better gloves but im not made of money !! because i dent have the equipment to try and make the lever i designed so i decided to cut in to the lever with a knife like a few gashes in it grips a little better but i think the main reason i have problems with the lever is because i have got blisters on both hands on my index finger right at the end where i hold the lever im riding too much

lawrence osborn
I would suggest these gloves link. They are amazing gloves i ride with them. They last for ages and have very good pading, i had a the 05 ones last time and they lasted september untill the end of march the following year and i used them prety much every day and i thought they was so good. I tried the slip on pair of THOR gloves but they was absolutely rubbish and only lasted about a month until they started riping apart. So i brought the 06 strap ones off the same guy i give you the link for and i got them in 2 days after ordering!
rids
tennis racket tape you can get it in fer or rubber and in different grip compoundsor if you are really skint elastic bands
STC
hey, i think you should maybe put some snake skin on it is that is what people call it you can get from shop's like hafords and other placese all it is is a a pecese o meral and that and you make it kinder tight so it will not come off the brake lever from luke
old_boy_rider
Heres a lever with a rubber insert like you described. Designed for comfort bikes but the concepts the same. Patented already i think.http://www.tektro.com/02products/04cl330.php
roly
I really recommend riding without gloves for a couple of days. I spent years trying to find gloves that I liked for different types of riding but was never happy. When you start to ride without gloves it hurts and when you sweat you might let go of the bars but it soon gets better and I'll never go back. Also its free which is great. Willsey
no way is that the best.. the rubber that small probably wouldnt do that much anyway...
20inchsuperstar
Get some decent gloves?Or don't ride with gloves at all?if you dont want to ride with no gloves because of blisters why not get fingerless ones??
EchoOz
Cheap solution.... Pop down to your local Halfords and buy there foam lever grips for 2squid you get enough for 4 levers so you have always got 2 spare. Cheap and easyOz
20inchsuperstar
me again,i sail(NATIONAL SQUAD!!!!!!!!!!!)not showing off of anything.but on some of the trapeze boats use progrip to grip to your feet while trapezing.its fairly thin and has a sticky back for easy application, you could stick it to the lever instead of cutting a chunk out of it!best of all it comes in loads of colours, its chep and lasts years!! c.kezer
hey u shoudnt need to put rubber in the lever it will make the lever weaker and you must be holding the lever wrong if your finger slips off. i don't use gloves or any thing like that and my finger never slips off try holding it different. chris

ben
seems a bit drastic to me to be honest i love my RB and i think gloves give u just as bad blisters. halfords the best bike shop ever (kinda) had break leaver grips not used them as i nvr seem to have the finger poping off problem that would mess with my world though what if it went ona drop gap thed be tears indeedben. MadManMike
I use 661 fingerless gloves - no hard skin / blisters on my hands, perfect grip on the fingers due to no gloves - and i've had them a year, just starting to rip now.If you're wearing gloves out that fast you have shit gloves or grips. No offense mate

Mark W
I can't remember how long it said he's suspended for, but I spent a fair while just mashing the numpad.
mrBENN
Iv'e actually tried it i stuck a piece of rubber to my leaver and it actually works i feel like I have more grip because i run fingerless gloves so if my hands get sweaty the rubber gives me more grip but i didnt cut the metal out of the leaver just stuck it on works good Edited August 30, 2006 by ..ben.. weewillywinky
i'm sure you can get foam to go over the blades, just like the foam handlebar grips. also some people like me for instance use two fingers and it may not suit that little bit of rubber, but then again i could just not buy the product. you could infact dip the lever blade in plastic rubber like my zildjian dipstick drumsticks they are really good for when your hands get sweaty until they wear down. cool initial idea though.have fun
GlynnP
If you were finking of doing this with the hs33s that i have got you just wouldnt be able to do it.This is because the levers are machien made so to keep there strength but lower the weigth its not a solid lever as such the back of the lever goes inwards. This means if you was to cut a section out of the front the lever wood be really weak.Hope This Helps
