Mark W
Same here. After the 12-18month contract is up, you just carry on on a monthly basis, meaning you just give them a month to cancel your setup. Oh, by the way - when you come to change to pay-as-you-go, tell them you're leaving for a better tariff from another phone company. Make up the tariff details, and you will be offered a better deal by Orange or whoever you're with. Just had that happen with us with o2 - all f**kin' good. TomN
Thought you had to seek out the whole 12 months or 18 months before you can cancel it.
poopipe
Thought you had to seek out the whole 12 months or 18 months before you can cancel it.sort of, they'll let you cancel before the end of the term but make you pay the rest of the line rental of the entire term. orange will happily let you switch the contract over to pay as you go when it finishes. - with the same number and everything - orange are lovely
Fish-Finger-er
2 other techniques used to get better phones for free. carphone warehouse do a insurance plan, which covers contract cancellations. so take out an 18 month contract on the phone you want. after 6, u can cancel it, pay ur 25 fee, and the insurance covers the cost of the line rental, think you can only do it twice in a 5 year period with them. but hey , by the time u done it twice, ull of outgrown having up to date phones, stopped being a student and have proper money to get the phone you want, or i should imagine another company will have similar insurance deals. also with many companies, can select a decent tariff costing say 30 quid a month, on an 18 month deal, get a mint phone, then after 6 months knock it down to a 12 quid tariff. either way, in may started my contact. w550i(which was the phone i wanted), 1000 off peak same network/landline minutes. 25 off peak x net minutes, and 100 texts. costs me 1.75 a month, for the 12 months of my contract.
