Matthew_Gibson
I was out in Carlisle with Rob on Tuesday and it was a good ride. But when I was watching the back tape, I noticed that I'm a pretty harsh rider, how can I not be so harsh and a bit smoother? Or is it just prectise that will make me better?Sidehops... help! I haven't got the technique right, is there any good way off getting higher? I normally to go the left, but with me being left footed is was wrong. I was trying going the other way today, I got quite high, for me. I was fliming so I got a clip of the sidehop, (Sidehop.WMV) Point me in the right direction. Thanks for looking guys! Mat Smith!
I noticed you were fairly harsh in that vid, espesh the gap, must of killed that Ronnie .I'm a fairly harsh rider myself, but I seem to get bigger if I bosh it harder.Just over do your body movements, and it should come naturaly.Sidehop looked alright, keep trying. You pre-loaded sooo much for it.EDIT: Try kicking more, and pulling up loads, keep putting more pallets on top, you will improve.Maybe if you got a Mod it might help aswell Mat Edited August 17, 2006 by mattyboy_69_
downhill_rob2@hotmail.com
We should have talked more about it on tuesday matt!Prelode as you were, but when your just about to hop up, put a little pedal kick in, but not a forward motion one, and upward motion one, asif you were bunny hopping high from the back wheel...Learn that technique, and you will fly up!Dude, i told you it will be better if you go to the right you got way higher on that sidehop on the vid than what you were doing t'other day!Keep practising man!!And for smoothness, try using a little more PSI in your tryes, cause yours is LOW lol.Use as much as you can intill you dont like the "feeling" of the tyre, then get used to it then its the right hardness. And then when you land, try to lower your front end a little more, and duck your body towards the wall, to keep the forward movement going, and you should land a little smoother
