twisted Posted August 17, 2006 Report Share Posted August 17, 2006 ok i currently have a 18t freewheel on the back which i want to change to a 12t sporcket (as i now have a new free wheel which goes on the front) and im not sure what type of sprocket i need eg : scew on. also how would get it on and off? poopipe Posted August 17, 2006 Report Share Posted August 17, 2006 ok i currently have a 18t freewheel on the back which i want to change to a 12t sporcket (as i now have a new free wheel which goes on the front) and im not sure what type of sprocket i need eg : scew on. also how would get it on and off?you answered your own question there. ask tarty for a screw on sprocket to go on your freewheel threads - theyll sort you out. getting the freewheel off..either a. get a freewheel tool and use that b. take the driveshell off, clamp the remaining bit in a vice and turn the wheel till it comes offc. go to your LBS and pay them to do it - you absolutely do not need them to put the new sprocket on for you though.
