problem with the new computer. i recently got a new computer, dad transferred everything from the old hard drive over onto our new one, i still have all my documents, and all my videos, but when i click to play any videos they all go really bright, as in near white, i have tried adjusting the hue and the brightness settings but with no provail, they are still crap which is really annoying. also it does the same with dvds put in the computer, very bright, but still with sounds and stuff.

HELP ME PLEASE!!!

edit: all the pictures in my pictures are fine, no problems with them.

my new nvidia drivers came with wanky video overlay settings - could be that

go to display settings > advanced > geforce whatever> video overlay settings

and make sure the values are sensible

eg.

Hue = 0%

saturation = 100%

if you click the adjust colours button on there you'll find brightness and contrast etc and a little graph which should be roughly a straight line.

the gamma setting is probably whats wanked - it should be around 1 strictly speaking but that'll be affected by your monitor etc.

you can set the settings for video in a window and for fullscreen video so youll need to mess with both

IPB Image

advise please

edit: damm why does it always feel the need to resize everything, just copy it into paint i guess and resize it then lol.

the pics are tiny, i cant read the words.

getting new drivers might fix it but you'll want to uninstall the current ones first.

that graph looks wanked though and the third slider down (under brightness and contrast sliders) is probably in the wrong place - it ought to be in the middle really - at a value of 1.
