Mark W
HHHHHHII GUYYYYYYYTHI've applied for a student loan for when I go to uni this year, and I just wanted to check with some other people what letters they've had back from the Student Loans Company. So far, I've been given a letter telling me what grants I'm entitled to (£784, w00t), and the "Total Loan Available", which is ~£5800 for me ('cos I'm going to be living in London, so the maintenance loan is higher), but I haven't received any kind of confirmation about my tuition fees. After I got my maintenance loan confirmation back they sent me back one page from my loan request form which my Mum hadn't filled in correctly, so I thought that might be the cause of me not having had my tuition fee loan confirmation yet, but do you actually get a letter from them about that? On their website it says something like I'm entitled to £3K, but it says on the loan confirmation letter I got "Maximum support available £6,660", so I just wanted to check that wasn't actually all I'm getting. If it is, I'm boned, but do you get the confirmation letter seperately about the tuition fee loan?Cheers for any help.Oh, and I've tried phoning the student support people at my LEA, and I haven't been able to get through to them
TomN
Calls centre are the worst thing ever Took me over 30mins to get through then they told me I shouldn't be signing this form and told me to get another one on internet. The call was over in a minute.
Walleee
You shouldn't be calling a call centre (should you?), is it not you local education board that deals with it?I know that I never recieved any letter regarding my fee's, So I paid them at the beginning of september, using savings I had, Only to get a whopper cheque back a few months later for the full amount. My college told me that the board had paid my fee's, again, I was never told they would pay.To be honest they are absolute wankers, I was entitled to a bollocks £300 bursary, 3 x £100 installments, I sent them an e-mail asking when the amounts would be paid into my bank account, and they were 10 days late getting that through, when my mum called to see what the craic was, the woman was an arsehole untill I came on the phone and quoted the e-mail I had recieved, working in a call centre myself I don't take any shite from anyone on the phone.Seems pretty shite really because had I not had the money myself, I wouldn't have known I could do the course.Edit: Mark, they only take calls at certain times of the day at mine, that might be your problem??
