AlexC
Hey,I let my mate have a go on my 4 day old T-Pro, he's a really good rider and has been riding most of his life - but last night he went to stall/abubaca my T-Pro on a wooden Bench which he does loads on his BMX. He didn't lean back far enough so the front fell forwards a bit, and the down/bottom tube landed on the back of the wooden bench. After I got home and cleaned the paint that was left behind on it ( from the bench ) I noticed there was a dent in the down tube. I really don't know what to do, I don't want to ride it much now it has a dent in it incase it snaps on me. Does anyone know if Onza will replace the frame, or if I can buy a new frame ( just the frame, not the bike ) direct from them? If so how much would it roughly be? Luke Rainbird
If it's just a little dent, then don't worry about it, will be fineIf it is a complete fold in the tube (unlikely from the sound of it) or a crack, then I'd go for a new frame. As for warrantee or whatever, I'm not really sure, best bet is to call and find out. Ali C
hahaha, you should see my bike, I dont think any of the tubes are round any more just ride it, possibly just keep an eye on it for cracks, but it would have to be a mighty big dent to cause a crack at all. AlexC
Wow, thanks for the quick response! It is just a little dent, you can see it in some light but not all and can just about feel it when you run your finger over it. As for warrantee or whatever, I'm not really sure, best bet is to call and find out.Yeh I probably will give them a ring, I'd rather have a frame that doesn't have dents ><I will definatly keep an eye out of for cracks around that area, but you all think it's ok to keep riding it? I just can't belive how easily it dented, it wasn't a full smack on the bench either - just a gentel drop when your trying to keep it on the backwheel but don't quite keep it up. Oh, I should have a new video up soon - i've progressed quite a bit I think =)
manxrider
If the dent is that small dont even bother ringing them. It wont make any diffrence what so ever.
poopipe
Even pretty big dents seem to be ok. I dropped to downtube on a rail a few months back (linky - don't laugh) and got a massive dent (3-4 inches long, an inch deep and the full width of the tube) in my frame which doesn't appear to have had any effect on it at all. I reckon it'll start to crack around the dent eventually but for now it's fine (fingers crossed) .The frame should be covered by the half price replacement scheme (assuming you bought it new) so you'll be able to get a new one but I figure it's better to wait till the bugger actually gets dangerous before replacing.
