Davey
That's the craziest thing I've ever seen. I though all that kinda stuff was relatively new school, didn't even realise 20inch was around back then. I've seen old Hans Rey vids and stuff like "Chain Spotting", and this is years older but it makes those look really old school! Apart from the bike and the clothes you'd be forgiven for thinking that was filmed in 2006!I'd be interested to find out a bit about that bike he's riding, like what brakes he's running as I've never known anything before V brakes to hold like that, canti's were never that good.... were they? Are you sure V's weren't around?!?I gotta watch that again, that is the bollox!!Davey
KMT
The first vee brake was produced in 1996 by shimano, if i not mistaken...I think maguras were earlier...

Below is hans rey's old bike, much the same as OT Pi's

poopipe
If you're into the old stuff have a hunt around on the forum, OllyC posted a link to a spanish site with mod vids going back from right now to the bmx handlebar days a few months ago. too busy/lazy to hunt it down myself

mat hudson
cantis were an upgrade. i beleive they originally came with sidepull brakes with a pully system to increase the power. well thats what the one in town has and all of them i've seen so far. Chris
That is part of a 60 or 90min video... don't remember exactly... called "Technique of Ot Pi".Too bad I've sold it to someone on the forum here.Impressive riding! He had amazing skills these days... The bikes have improved a lot and make it easier to do certain techniques. Some years ago the technique and the rider himself was a lot more important than today I'd say. Today you can compensate a lot with a long, leight weight bike... Mooore!
i thought Ot Pi ran maguras on that bike.I used to have that vid (until mum recorded over it) and i'm almost sure there was a close up with his front wheel at one point. The bit on the full video that impressed me the most was how much power the brakes had in the wet. They were as good as mine in the dry.good to see that vid again though...its the one that got me into trials many moons ago.

anzo
Aciiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiid!Do you think in years to come people will be downloading CLS vids and taking the piss out the music/bikes/riding?Alan Partridge - He was first in the que when got was handing out eyebrows...[attachmentid=6575]
somberlaine
Ummmm, whilst his riding was good for 1991, I don't think that it is god-like when compared with today's standards. If I saw someone post that today on this forum as a vid of themselves, I wouldn't think that they were anything special. I'm rubbish too by the way.
