Pinch Flat Resistance- Creepy Crawler Vs. Try-all

Just a quick question,

I need new tyres and I'm looking at getting either a rear creepy crawler or a try-all, my only problem is that last time I had a creepy crawler I suffered LOADS with pinch-flats; so many infact that I opted to ride the less grippy monty tyres, which I havent had a single pinch flat from in several months.

I'd probably prefer a try-all, but I've heard they are bad for pinch protection, and the creepy crawler was supposedly meant to have good (!!?) pinch protection according to most people.

So how does the try-all compare for pinch protection? What are your experiences?

I got 12 punctures in 1 and a half weeks with my CC, on 6 different tubes,

It wasn't like I was running 10 psi, I weigh about 8 stone, maybe less :ermm: and have to run like 25 psi....

Maybe I'm just harsh but Crappy Crawlers really do suck.

Get Try-All or Echo.

Sorry, but that doesn't really sort out my problem- I have tried running my creepy crawler with a whole range of pressures from very low to very hard, which I hate riding with because it just feels crap, and I still manage to get pinches!

So how does the try-all fare in comparaison?

Well, 2 local riders run Try-All tires and they don't get punctures, or not that I've heard of anyway.

They don't really run hard tire pressures either.

I have a try-all and run about 25/28 psi and i seriously cant remember the last time i had a flat in the rear! (wish i neva said that now!) i get them in the front alot more now which is a real bugger but atleast its quick and esay!

TRY-ALL :D

Im not saying my CC tyres never give me pinch flats, but i used to have an extra thick inner tube (2.25mm thick rubber) and my valve ripped off, so i wrapped that around my new inner tube (just a normal one...) and i didnt get 1 pinch flat... then i took it out for some reason :ermm: and never put it back in, and iv got lots of pinches (well, like 1 in 2 months :P ) and thats only from a 7.3 foot gap from rail to a grind box with a sharp copeing on the side...

I like CC tyres, no matter what anyone else says...

I found my creepy crawler only started pinching when it got old. It doesn't matter what pressures you run once it's past it's best.

The best solution to the problem is to fill the tyre with talcum powder, foot powder, chalk etc - anything dusty (flour probably doesn't work) , this makes the inside of the tyre slippy so the tube doesn't stick to it and rip.

I've gone from a pinch every time i rode to no pinches in months (on the same tyre) - it also worked on my bmx tyres which I was managing to pinch despite running 90odd psi.

im running a try-all at the moment, and ive only pinched it once in about 2-3 months and i am stupidly harsh, mine is bald and the grip is still amazing.

but for ultimate pinch protection, onza sticky fingers for the win, however you mite loose your face due to there extreme lack of grip!
