anzo
Well, riding in Derby yesterday when I took a bit of a 'stumble' (aka. f**k up) on a wall which was only about 4ft or so. Basically it was onto a bit of a seat and then onto the wall which was a bit of a dodgy angle. After trying to line myself up on the wall I over shot my back wheel and fell off sideways. It all went into slow motion and I knew something bad was about to happen, I tried to bail out, which made me go virtually up-side-down and land head first onto the concrete floor, I instantly shot up and it did scare the shit out of me.On top of this my thumb is verrrrrrrry swollen and maybe fractured, but after looking at my helmet when I was sat town after the shock, I noticed heavy cracking on my helmet, it really sets in how much helmets do actually save your life, I know that if I wasn't wearing mine then that I'd have my brains splattered all over the floor and I probably wouldn't be talking to you now.Anyways, ladies and gentlemen, lessons learnt, WEAR A HELMET! Yep, they do a crash replacement, sent the reciept, a statement of what happened and the damaged helmet to giro and they'll replace it...hopefully. But like a dickhead I can't find the reciept, although I think samways are sending me a duplicate...hopefully.
nickyw
Yeah yestarday...I went over the bar's and done sort of a front-flip...Then as soon as i knew what was happening...The back end of the bike just came flying at me so i had to stop it from hitting me in the face with my hand,But got my finger trapped in the spokes. Now it may of looked funny-as-f**k and all but when i actually stood up my head was hurting and made me a bit dizzy. After that i put my helmet on...Left it on all day too.All this happend just because my hand slipped off the bar's.Wear a helmet dude's...I now regret not wearing it.EDIT:This also scared the sh*t out of me. ManxTrialSpaz
Yeh, even if they don't save your life, in 'minor' crashes, they save |-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| this much hassle. Ages ago, I went over the back and cracked the back of head on the floor. I got up winded with a bit of a headache. If I wasn't wearing a helmet I know I would have got up after 10x as long, winded, with a fanny of a headache and probably with a bit of memory f**kage for a couple of minutes and a big bruise. Even if helmets don't save your life, they will save hassle. Those people who think helmets look stupid, who's more stupid? The guy who f**ks up a manual and gets up again or the guy who f**ks up a manual and goes home/to hospital?
MadChikken
Shit the bed man, very very good job u had a lid on.I never used 2 until I started workin in a bike shop so got the same helmet ( Xen) They are comfy as hell though, and very good at doing what they do by the looks of that. Gd that Giro do a crash replacement aswell, saves a bit of money Glad ur head isnt in pieces, hope its another lesson to people.Still see far too many films in the Vids section with people doin silly shit with no helmet on, it just aint worth the risk =/M@
