If i was you i definately wouldnt get the saracen 20" id go for an onza t-vee or t-bird (Y) depends on what geometry you want ? ask people who have them the posative points and negative points of the two bikes, then make a decision.

don't buy a saracen 20" because if you are just starting to ride you will use your bashplate a lot and this bike doesn't have a bash so get a t-vee if you are looking for around that much money as they come with bash and avid brakes which are a lot better than those tectro brakes (Y)

Thats a bit harsh Simon

Im afraid i disagree. Saracen do do good stock bikes for beginners but honestly, it's much easier to learn on a mod and a saracen isn't the one to do it on. Onza t-pro is a GREAT starter bike, its cheap, ok-ish geometry, and parts good enough for a learner (Y) If you can't stretch to that get a t-bird or if you're still too skint get a t-vee.

Onza have always been known to cater for riders across the range from riders such as yourself, up to Danny Butler standard. I personally think that deng and koxx aren't AS good for beginners because they're higher quality and higher price which isn't what a begginer needs. I know python's have come down in price etc. but i'd still say onza are better for begginners

BTW that doesn't mean onza are better fullstop so don't start bitching.....

I say if you know abit about bikes and think you could put one together yourself. To be honest you can get a really nice bike for quite cheap if you buy all the bits second hand.

look at this comes with cranks... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Onza-T-Lite-Frame-Te...1QQcmdZViewItem

(thats a long link^^)

Then all you need is some

wheels

brakes

bars, stem, headset, grips

chain, pedals.

Check out the Selling part of this forum there is always some bargins going down. (contact sellers by email)

You can rob the chain, grips and pedals off a old bike.

Onza do a set of budget wheels for 60quid. Thats with tryes and tubes... www.supercycles.com Edit: its www.supercycles.co.uk

Brakes you could use some old v-brakes tune them up nicely so they work well. Or get some second hand magura HS33. (there pretty much what everybody uses).

I rekon it will cost you about 250-300quid. And for that money you wont get any better.

Or you could look on ebay and get a complete bike. there is always some bargins there.
