hi,

I run a front freewheel on my zona zip and i was ridin along the road one handed and my trouser leg got stuck in my freewheel so I pedaled backwards and then i rememered that you cant pedal backwards to make the chain move

I took loads of time tryin to get my trouser leg out

Finally i got it out

I ripped my trousers tryin to get it out >_<

i was wonderin if anyone else had done this and if they had this much trouble

Yeah happens to me frequently. I jus ride with my leg as far away as i can when i am rolling (well as far as it feels comfortable on the pedal) It is a royal pain in the ass its destroyed my chavidas joggers :shades: and some brand new levis jeans :o i know i shouldnt have been wearing them but i wasnt doing any "proper" riding. :P

And Matt you seem to think profiles are gods gift to trials riders which they kinda are but front freewheels can be just as good like my tensile has more engagements than your profile and probably hasnt skipped as much >_<

thers my essay for today :P

my mate got his stuck and his foot went blue so i decided to flag a car down to see if they had any scissors the first car that stopped was a police car and then he phoned a ambulance and then 2 came just to cut a pair of trousers with a pair of scissors. lmao

yer i just put a front tensile on my bike yesterday and it kept taking chunk out of the trackies i was wearing. And then on the way home (it was pitch black down an alleyway) it ripped them up 2 the knee and i had to throw them away :( . Any way moral of the story wear shorts!!!

happened to me once while riding to a new spot and i had quite baggy jeans on and it practically ate them

and my friends just laughed and rode off,

it wasnt till around 25 minutes later they came back and realised i was kinda really stuck that they went and got scissors

soon stopped wearing baggy jeans to ride in after that lol

:P:P:P

Hah ha, just ennoying isn't it?, especially when it makes you fall sideways <_<

My trousers'right leg has been regularly caught and mechanically chewed to a black greasy death... well, don't care any more at this stage :-

I think i have a pair of these.

I've caught my jeans in my chain so many times, most annoying part is that most of the time it gets stuck in the chain-ring as well, so when you try to pedal back you cant and end up smashing your elbow off the ground.

Tie pin them, elastic band, tuck them in all perfect ideas. Or you could just by some tighter trousers for riding.

  • 2 weeks later...

yep has happened to me and its nasty if u do it bad.

Tucking ur trousers in ur socks just looks stupid and the freewheel will still find a way to grip hold ov your leg.

its a pain in the ass to get it out when u cant turn the free wheel because the pedal is digging in ur leg when u turn it. happened to me.

Very embarracing i was on my park when i did it the worst i had a bike attached to my leg for about 20 minits.

the best solution would obviously to wear shorts but its gettin colder up here in Manchester so im wearing pants now, but i have learnt from my mistakes and i ride with 1 trouser leg up as u can see all the way through my video lol :
