Connor
static gives a more controlled way of doing rail gaps plus you have time to bail if it goes tragically wrong
lawrence osborn
Well you should really tell us on what is better. We can't really tell you what is better for you because not everyone has seen you ride. You should say "In your opinion what is better a rolling gap to rail or a static gap to rail?" Well try both and see what you prefer, I don't mind wether it is rolling or static I just think rolling gap to rail is a bit harder to land on a rail and keep the bike up. Also I prefer a gap off a wall to a rail but doing a rail any type of way is still good!Oh and Mr manx what a great fall especially the noise you made. brilliant. joe.powell
Being awful at rails, I have found that the only way to do it, sort of, is static. When i roll i seem to turn the front wheel and just face plant into it, or smack my bars.
Tommy d
Rails scare me. I prefer walls, a flat surface always helps.I would also say I prefer a flat gap, if there is a drop you might be able to get further, but it makes the landing heavier and less predictable. I find it's easier to stay on the back wheel if you don't have to take into account the extra force of dropping.

Andrex
I would agree that static on to a rail is better because you have more control over the bike and if it goes wrong you can bail easier. I once rolled onto a rail and ended up with the stem in my nuts painful it was.

Barbra
Why is he?Can maybe see where your comnig from, let them get on with it The way he is posting, its as if he's just really trying his hardest to get his name in black. He's trying to correct the other guy, by saying he should put "in your opinion..." I rarely see anybody type that before their post in trials chat never mind new members. As for the rails, i don't really do them, they scare the shit out of me. TomN
Depends on thee run up and the situation you're in and wheather if the gap is big or not for static.
