Barbra
well on a p2p program i can change how many sources its able to connect to on one file, which obviously will make the download faster, which is why i rarely use bittorrent. I was just wondering if you could increase the speed of your download through bittorrent? At least then it would mean me getting rid of this cruddy p2p client. CBProductions
Ensure a good host and limit your upload rate and make sure your ports are setup and ensure firewalls arent blocking any speed and thats about it really.
Barbra
i did that dan but it doesn't make it that much faster.

Haz
Your client, Azureus, BitComet, BitTorrent, whatever, needs to get through the firewall in your router. To do that, it uses ports, unless the ports your client is using are open (this can be checked through your router), then you will experience slow speeds. If you open these ports, then the client will be able to run downloads as fast as possible. Also, private sites are faster and safer than public torrents. But you'll ned an invite. poopipe
I've noticed that if you find the same torrent from more than one site you can often pick up extra seeds because it'll combine lists. It's particularly handy if you're trying to find slightly out of date stuff. That might depend on the client you use though - I'm still using some ancient version of bitcomet that im too slack to upgrade
