Whole New Front Set Up.

Hey guys, I’m going to be converting to a front disc in the near future and thought whilst I’m at it I will upgrade a few other bits at that end, so I’ve got a few questions for you all :-

1) Will I need a new hub because of the disc brake? If so then I was looking at the Echo Front Disc Hub …and this leads me to the second question.

2) On that hub description it says "32h only" what does this mean and will it effect my rim choices when I come to upgrade them?

3) At the moment I’ve got a HS33 on the front, so will I need to change my forks to hold the disc or anything like that?

If there is anything else I will need to do to run a disc then please let me know.

Thanks chaps (Y)

1) Yes you will need a new hub. At a guess, your hub wont have the disc mounts on it.

A good one to go for is the Hope XC.

Basiclly the same as that Echo one, but half the price. ;)

2) '32h only' means that that the hub only comes with 32holes. So you will need at 32h rim for it.

But pretty much all front rims are 32h, so nothing to worry really.

3) If your forks don't have a disc mount on them, then you will need to change your forks.

Stock forks - Echo urbans seem good. Really light and strong, with 4 bolt mount and disc, or V brake and disc available. - I think.

Two of my mates use them, and have had no problems.

Mod forks - Echo Easy/Lite forks are good. Nice and light, but not the strongest. Come with 4 bolt mount, and disc, or disc only mounts.

Or Echo Team forks. Nice and strong, I think they're pretty light? Bit more expensive than the Easy's...

to be honest. if you're thinking of the xc you may as well pay the extra few quid and get a pro2 front hub. they're a bit lighter and stronger. up to you really.

Yea to be honest my 1st main options where the hope pro2 and that echo one I gave a link to earlier.

Thanks guys, will order that stuff tomorrow hopefully : D

Anf.
