I am fancying a new frame and was wondering wether the 06 Koxx xtp are worth the asking price? (round about £530) and are they good strong frames, also do they crack easy? if so where and are they a good frames to use to rise natural?

Also, would a monty eagle claw bashplate fit the xtp?

Cheers all...RLC

In my eyes koxx xtp's are good for natural and a no go for street, the weak areas are on the welds near the chainstay area, i dont think an eagle claw will fit because the bolt mountings are on a different place on the frame (N) , if you do alot of natural get one (Y)

Personally i think they are over priced, by a fair amount.

The reason people say they are weaker is because they use a pretty thin tubing (1.2mm i think), so it will dent and crack easier than other frames that use a thicker tubing. Using thin tubing makes the bike quite light though, that is why it is more marketed and used as a comp frame.

They can be used for street, but they won't take the punishment as well as other mod bikes like the GU's or echo's etc.

Do you currently have a GU?

What are your reasons for wanting to get rid of it? Or is it just because you want a new frame?

In my opinion there are many better frames that are cheaper than the koxx xtp. But it is just a matter of what you want/need a new frame for.

xtp are immense, i had mine for well over a year before it cracked and i improved loads on it, if your a real heavy rider then it isn't the frame for you but if your fairly smooth and uci then there a good frame. BUT there not worth the £550 asking price, if i were you and you wanted somthig similar then get the echo lite, the steeper head angle and higher bb make it more flickable and bouncy, and for £220 you cant go wrong.

Dont listen to all the New mebers, they havent a clue. The XTP has the nicest Geo ever. and rides like a super light feather and is gorgous!

The cracking around the Horizonatl drop outs have been changed to stop them cracking.

Also the new prototype XTP will be out fairly soon and is being rode by Benito Ross. So may be worth waiting for that, as its going to be simular in price. the bash plate design is now being copyed by deng on his 07 models and is a good idea as it stops the bolts riping out or threding.

You only younge and very light. Get one. Nicest ride and worth the money if you have it.

Xtp's are really weak espically round the horizontal drop out part as they can crack easy there but i suggest you go for a levelboss as they are strong.

:ermm: No.My mate cracked his after 4 months riding , they wouldn`t even gi`ve him a new frame or anything. (N) .CRAP!. Monty`s are stronger and thats saying something.lol.
