Jsy Ben
Is the race (the ring that sits at the bottom of your forks) rubbing against the bottom of the headset ?
mods
no the headset isn't on the bike. holding the silver bit turn the main part of the headset and it just want to grip when i turn it. might be ok on the bike i don't know yet. Onza Kieron
Probably be a good idea to put it on bike, if it persists try giving it a few bangs, might just be a lil it of grit
justfuzzit
Ok so your saying the bearing feels like crap? If its new, call up whoever you got it from and warantee it. if its not new, go to your LBS and see if you can get a replacement bearing for it. I dont know what size it is but it might be just a standar bearing that you can get.
mods
i have just smoothered in abu garcia fishing reel oil (thats all i have to hand) when i was turning it some very fine grit cam out and it feels better. i think it's just full of muck cheers beau EDIT, it still sucks. I'm going to pack it with some grease tomorrow, does anyone know if they can be taken appart? Edited August 5, 2006 by mods
Nick Garland
Im going to say no as the new echo headsets use the same bearing as chris king or something, which means sealed cartride bearings. So technically you can take it apart but I wouldnt guantee it going back together . How old is it, phone up where you bought it from and have a chat with them if its relativley new.
