Wright Pads
Okay so it's now out and fully being made. Hope have full range now but not the Mono Trialswhic sucks. What do you think about it thought? The mount is ment to be stiffer, stornger and also make disc brakes easyer and faster to get working.Think Deng might wake up and fit it to his forks and maybe frames?I'm speaking with Hope on Monday to ask for my custom calipers to be made with the 9-74 mountAs random as this is i am right in thinking it reads 974 though it's writen 9-74?PeteEdit here it is! Ali C
I love it, I want a set of forks with +20 post mounts so I can use an avid mech without the heavy adaptor

Todge
These look good. May make disc mounts on custom steel frames a bit tasty
AdamR28
Its definitely a good system, the only problem I've found is that there aren't any tools currently available to face the mounts... and they are rarely square = wank brake! Wright Pads
Sod it, if this topic keep going the way it does like they should i'll forward it to Hope about the Mono Trial and see what they say!Todge you were thinking exactly what i was, ahem cough cough

AdamR28
They've been around a while... Hayes made their first post mount brakes in 2000, and Manitou forks to match.

AdamR28
Post mount be about for year Adam, Hayes, Avid, many othersThat's what I said, yeah. The 9 refers to Hope's caliper number btw, and the 74 to the spacing in mm between the two bolt holes. Its called a post mount. mike425
Hayes have done those for years, i used to run that on my tomac dh bike a few years ago. to be honest its pretty pointless, in the mtb world everyones trying to develop new standards, so what one company thinks is the standard another company claims isnt because what they do is. Its just another ball ache really lol
Euro Braker
Another trend And as I see not alot of improvement and not nessarsery for the change
Ali C
not sure I would call it a trend.Would be interesting to see if post mounts are stronger than international standard, maybe is could be a practical soloution to tabs snapping off the rear of frames? Wright Pads
No new trend you chavThe new STD not more ISO 51mm eye to eye but post mount 74mm is the new std of ISO and Intl!Heheh I know exactly whom you after Ali!!! i spoke to him my self Monday and what with Hope sponsership i think it'll happen
JT!
I don't like the sound of this new STD. Best start using condoms.
N.Wood
Werd JT.It was either Brett McCulloch or Morley who had a post mount fitted to his frame and forks as he had a deal with Desalvo i think it was about a year or 2 ago. He used front and rear BB7's without adaptors. Not exactly brand spank-me new...
mat hudson
post mounts are fine, been around for ages, who cares. everyone with avids can just take off their adaptors and get a different one and people with monotrials can cry a bit, then get arse raped for a hope adaptor. ali, wtf are you on about the adaptor being heavy weight weeeeeeeeeniiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee haha
Ali C
its a big solid lump of alloy, its never gonna be light I guess its not steel though.
