planet-x-boy Posted August 3, 2006 Report Share Posted August 3, 2006 Hello people.After using all of the hope brakes i found that none of them had the power that i wanted, Yes they were ok and did lock but i hated the modulation before they locked. I put a post on here, asked people, asked bike shops etc and the all said get an avid bb7. I found a mate that had a caliper for sale so i thought i would give it ago. I bought xtr cable and speed dial 7 lever and this brake was a beast. It was running with a 205mm leeson spikey rotor, so maybe this was the problem? I did a gap to front wheel and locked the brake on as usual but i heard quite a load snap, looked down and half of the calliper had ripped off.Im sure that it was just the power of the brake that did this but i havnt heard of any other bb7's doing this.
