flipkickbs
Ha ha, Microsoft products being described as a 'train wreck' LMAO, quality. Seems like a shite idea anyway, cant even mash the keyboard in anger, you'd have to hit yourself in the face instead.

RicH_87
who cares if voice recognition doesn't work? why the hell are they even developing it? is the keyboard to perfect or something?i guess you'll all say it's for people with no hands, but how would those people open word in the firstplace? or put on the mic? or even turn on their pc?this is just another lame reason for cyber anoracs to have a dig at microsoft some more, people need to grow up and remember how much they actulaly get right. if microsoft products really didn't work, people would of found a better alternative by now, purley out of necessicity. I guess most are scared to change though?
Simon
Its cheaper, and a hell of a lot easier to use Microsoft products. Various companys are beginning to believe they have a monolopy, and are starting to sue for information regarding Microsoft products.I don't like Microsoft, but theres no way in hell i'm about to change. It works, sometimes doesn't, give a shit, it will be a lot more hassle, and a much bigger chunk in my wallet to change to anything else, except linux, but thats pointless as nothing works with it. Token
unless your a gamer, then I cant see the point in sticking with microsoft in the future. Then again most games will be playable on mac's soon enough so whats the difference?maybe when its time for an upgrade Ill have a serious think and weigh up the pros and cons then. But until then I cant help think that the uncrashable mac's are a little further ahead than windows will ever be.

I guess most are scared to change though?do you run a buisiness though? or an office? or even own more than one computer?think about just how many windows/microsoft based systems are in the world, then compaire that too how many people you know on a forum, that decided to buy an overpriced ibook instead of a thinkpad.the world pretty much runs on windows, sure a few places use linux for security reasons and i've heard that macs are used for a decent amount of design work, but i can still garantee somewhere a long the line there is a microsoft based system in there. if windows didn't work, everyone in the world would use something else, they don't, and they haven't for over 25 years, and i can't see anyone coming close to matching them within at least next 25 years. Given, its not as shit as Microsoft are for glitches, but its a completely different architecture. The only reason i'd buy a mac is if i wanted to go into the arts and graphics field, video, music, picture and so on. The only reason i'd use Linux is for a server or sandbox.Every day uses, Microsoft will stay there at the top for a good long while yet. Rob_P
I agree with Simon (for once)Un-crashable? At college the ones I was using used to crash ALL the time! Espically one of those widescreen jobbies, brand new and it couldn't keep up with me, so it used to crash when I was in the middle of editing my coursework, very frustrating. The macs are much nicer for editing, espically photoshop and they do generally look/work great, thats the only reason I'd ever really think about buying one. For editing.......simply that. No biggy that the voice thingy majiggy dosen't really work is it?It's like frames, if one breaks everyone slates the hell outta it. I think its that they got through all the development stages to the point that they presented their product. I for one would not present cutting edge technology if there was even a slight chance it would all go to sh1t. Its hard to believe that the product ever worked before the presentation, it got nothing right. I think its a fairly good concept and it could save a heap of time for just making notes etc, but microsoft have obviously made a pretty bad mistake in presenting it far too early. But i'm sure it will prove to be a success as most other microsoft products are. Ian
nmt_oli
how can they get it so bad? i had voice recognition software on my WINDOWS 98!!!!! pc and that worked fine, granted you have to 'train' it by reading certian stuff, but thats to be expected. You say that about f**king everything to do with Windows though? Like how apparently Apple created tabbed browsing - which they didn't. It's not like voice recognition hasn't been around on Windows for a while anyway, we had "Viavoice" or whatever the f**k it's called aaaaaaages ago, and it was as useless then as it is now for any need I have for my computer... poopipe
All this stuff about people switching over to apple is mental (even if it isn't based on shite voice recognition) - I put this to all the mac fans...There's one main reason why there are less known bugs under max OSs and that's that apple don't admit there's a problem when they find one.For example, (some of you may remember this) there was a serious security flaw in OSX discovered by a hacker type person fairly soon after release, he notified apple straight away - they did nothing, threatened to go public unless they fixed it - they did nothing, went public with it - they did nothing. I think it was 18 months before a patch was released that rectified the issue - during which time every OSX machine under the sun was essentially open to bumrape by the entire internet. If that'd been microsoft then everybody would have known about it straight away and there would have been a patch out and automatically installed as soon as they'd written and tested it.basically it comes down to a question of whether you'd you rather have something that gets fixed when it goes wrong or something that doesn't. Haz
Loving that woman at the end of the clip. It's unfortunate it didn't work, but you can only laugh at how long it's taken them to make it usable.I actually quite like the fact it has similarities with OSX, 'cause I love OSX! And to tell the truth, I've never had a major problem with XP...
Krisboats
My dads mac looks nice but its much easier and less hassle to use my pc. Before anyone says i can't use it properly we've had some form of mac in this house since i was 6 so thats 13 years of using them, we only got our first pc 3-4 years ago because the mac wasn't compatible with anything my school had. So we got a nice laptop and it was great never had problems with it up until recently and i think that is becasue the hard drive is on the way out, it never had a disk defrag or windows re-installing in the entire 3-4 years we had it.People say that macs are better for editing photo's and things but what do they base it on? I completely fail to see it. A pc isn't any less functional for using photoshop, there aren't any super great functions or filters on the mac version, the speed is aproximately the same, if anything slightly quicker on my pc. The only thing that diferenciates the mac from the pc is the faint slim silver window border around the program and the lack of functionality with me being only able to click one sodding mouse button. CBProductions
MAC = prosumer PC = home / newbie user. It's not the first time microsoft has had this happen, If we all think back to the launch of 98 when it crashed on live television with gates there and again apple has had its flaws with overheating in a batch of the imac's. This argument will be never ending its like trying to justify that one car rules over every other one. Everyone likes there own thing so just let it be. I do think this should be in the best of the internet though and it will probably get in there soon.
