I ride my base ta26 single speed and untill this morning I ran it 17-22 but decided I was having problems geting the power to the wheel when I was hopping up things (I couldnt hop back off the other side as it was hard to get the power through having just used all my energy getting up) So I decided to change to a more spinny gearing and chose 19-22. I was just wondering what everyone else is running.

Cheers

Tom

Basically if you divide the chain ring size by the rear sprocket size then you should have a number of around 1.2 - 1.2 is generally the accepted ration for trials.

I run 22 : 18 so if i divide 22 by 18 i get 1.2222222

Some people prefer slightly harder gears, some slightly easier, but most people run aroung 1.2

P.S. This is in reference to 26" bikes, i can;'t say i know mod gear ratios.
