Tim-Hill..Yeah Mate
Hello,I think you should go for the 06 echo rims, i am running one on the rear and i think they are very light and very strong, they are not too expensive either, £35 I think. You can also get them in really nice colours, red would suite your bike nicely.Tim. Edited July 31, 2006 by Tim H

OKOK I will.Thats Brett Penfold's rim, very nice, seen it all before, but remember this guy has been on this forum all of an hour, so he is not going to no the news is he. Also have you seen how big the line was what Brett did his rim on. Dan.
philking
I have explained this before but there is no harm in doing it again:The 06 Echo rims are bad because of their shape - They have a very square cross section which meant that whenever they are hit the force isn't channeled down into the spokes and dispersed over a large area, but it is contained in the sidewalls that then fold because of the high pressure. Basically, they were a nice idea, but they weren't as good as hoped/expected.The Ronnie rim is pretty good for the rear, i had one which lasted for around 8 months with maybe 10 grinds in total.Personally however i would have to say Tryall seem to be your best bet. I know people slag them off and discribe them as cheese etc, but they are still the most popular rims around, and thats because despite them having a few weaknesses, no company has brought out a rim that is better (although i would say Onza has provided equal alternatives).Of course there are other rims out there which aren't trials specific but are still good - Alex Dx32 and Mavic Ex721 (used to be called the D521). The main problem with the mavic is they are rather narrow and therefore can't be used with rim brakes in most modern frames. I would suggest reading the info on TartyBikes because it is very accurate and informative. Edited August 1, 2006 by philking

Echo 05's are cheap and very strong, hence Neil Tunnicliffe, Craig Lee Scott and James Porter use them...Best bet is selectbikes Nathan Edited August 1, 2006 by nafan
