Mike Beck
yo to all,as i am building up my planet-x tibo frame i am wondering if the hope mono rear hub i any good or is i tworth trying the hope xc.............. past experience and thoughts are highly wanted....cheers
Michael Ingle
For a beginner hub its a really good choice. I've got one and it does the trick. It'd be nice to have a few more engagments (only has 20) but you get what you pay for. Mines been going for a while now and appart from replacing the pawls once ive had no problems. (changing pawls only costs a few quid and its like a 10 minute job so thats not an issue) I cant really compair it to the Hope XC having never used one, but I doubt you would be disapointed with the Mono.Mike
Willsey
i had one that was no problem to me but i just saw a topic where someones just split when they were riding... so they arnt flawless.. or it may have been part of a bad batch.. in total the reviews are more good than bad
Tom_
It was a pro 2 that split!! Im also looking at these two hubs, I think that I am going to get the xc as I have heard the mono has weak flanges and they break quite easily.
adamtrials
I think that I am going to get the xc as I have heard the mono has weak flanges and they break quite easily. As far as i'm aware they are both exactly the same but the xc has a disk mount?Ive got one, works fine, no problems. munch8987
Get one!!For a beginners hub right up to being pro, i think it's safe to say that everyone, at some point in their trials life, has had one...or 2....or 3 I've had mine for a year and a half now, and the only thing that needed fixing on it, was a spring, which i would recommend upgrading, later on in it's life.I love mine, despite it skipping a few times, it has been an all round perfect investment, and for only £75, it's a bargain And about the flanges, I've had absolutly no troubles with mine and the hub runs like it were new, super smooth If you do go for one, buy the steel hub one, yeah it's slightly heavier, but it'll last longer too.......and it's cheaper If you have that spare bit of cash, go ahead and buy the pro II trials hub, from what i've heard they are pretty amazing, despite a tiny few mishaps. The only difference i know of between the mono and the XC, is that the XC is disc compatible. All the insides are the same.Correct me if i'm wrong Hope this helpsBen
elektrokid
yea, get a mono. its an ace hub, iv been runnin mine for a long time now, i think about just over 2 years, the only problem i had with it is a snapped axle, but this hasnt put me off them, i still rate them highly
