watto
I'd try doing some smaller drops first so you can get your technique correct, if you can find a few pallets and stack them one on top of the other maybe about 3 or 4 then drop off them, watch some vids were they do drops and see how they do it first. Good Luck dropping . Edited July 28, 2006 by watto

Tall_Rob
My advice, don't do it!Get better first and then still, don't do it!We do bike trials here and although it may be a massive move dropping 5ft, it's pointless.Learn moving around rocks on your bike like your walking on flat ground.Learn how to be smooth, consistant, accurate.Just doing drops will knacker you, your bike and you'll soon have a hole in your wallet.Be different to everyone else and learn real trials, do more natural and technical street moves. When you get better, perhaps give it a go but dropping 5ft plus will not make you a better rider. You may aswell just break your legs now with a hammer.Rob

SamHolmes
Don't think about it, just do it.Yep Dont think about anything, just get up on the wall and go for it
onzatprodude
just dont bother doing it. i went from like a 3ft drop to a 6 1/2 one and done it straight away. it felf really wierd it took ages for me to hit the floor and when i did i went straight over the handlebars... good job it was onto grass. i suggests forgetting about drops and only drop off what you can get up up if that makes sense....unless you really really want to do it
Wright Pads
Laws of physics hereWhen your standing up on top of this wall you think wow this is high, off wall looks easyYour what say least 5ft soemthing if not more so your seeing it more form above, go to the ledge and look off that, tiny, thats exactly what your back wheel be dropping off thats the hegiht. On the bike again add 1 to 2ft more in height. It's all from the eye in your head, need to look at it form your feetAs odd as this sound go try it on a garden wall, you'll see what i mean
Greetings
If Hermance can back-wheel a 5ft wall, you can drop off it. Just do it.

A!!
I get this problem when trying bigger drops or something i haven't done before. The way i get over it is just to sit down and think the move through your head like you're body position, where you are going to release the brakes etc. Then once you are up on the wall clear you're head of un-needed thoughts and try not to think about it too much, then magic happens and just do it. Just make sure you are comfortable with it first otherwise you will do it half hearted and that is when accidents happen.
BIG L
Don't think about it, just go for it and give it some beans! On the other hand you could find little drops and practice your tecnuiqe and everytime just go a little higher e.g 2ft, 3ft,4ft, and so on. That is the way i learnt but now i am more confident with myself and just go for it Also you could stand on top of the drop looking down at the ground and picture yourself in your head doing the drop and then do the drop that works well usually. basher
its all about confidence, but dont do it if you dont feel confident in your self because you will only end up hurting your self, remember drops aren't what make you better so dont feel they are nesaccary to do. it is far harder to get up something than drop off something, so you should put your energy into back wheeling walls ect and not doing drops. drops should just something on the side as a bit of fun. i would say go and practice and get better, this will build your confidence and make you believe in your self more giving you the balls to go for stuff. the key thing is not to rush into things, take your time and build your self. BIG L
Am i the only person who doesent find drops scary? No i love doing drops and like to see how high i can go ive done almost 9ft .And also when you sit and think about it you start thinking what if i don't make it and i really hurt myself or what if i land wrong and brake my bike, so the best thing is just go for it. yoyoyo
The real question is, are you a smooth rider. If your not smooth, i'd avoid it for now and work on your technique. If you are then consider doing it.Not smooth = bad wrists and possibly an egg shaped wheel. And remember if you don't want to do it. Don't do it, nowt wrong with walking away until you get better. ashby-trials
Id start small but if your friends are pushing you to do it well its up to you if you want to do it its not about who's the best its all about having a good time.
ManxTrialSpaz
Rememebr, it's only a drop. It's pointyless. Only do it if it's worked in with something, i.e. tap up wall and drop off. But if you really want do do it, try going off fast first. Then gettign slower until you do it properly(trials way) Edited July 30, 2006 by ManxTrialSpaz
