ChrisP
I was out yesterday for a few hours and was primarily practicing my trackstand. I managed to improve it and can balance for upto 7 seconds if i'm lucky. I also feel i'm not doing it properly because i have to move forwards more than a few inches at times and im really jerky with the movements. So i think i've found out where i'm going wrong but i would really appreciate some pointers from you guys: My chocolate foot's my left one so i turn the handle bars to the right but i turn the wheel almost 80-90'(degrees) and then i fall sidewise. When this happens what should i do?

Barbra
put your wheel up against a kerb (thats how the cool kids spell it ) when your first starting off, once you've got that dialled try doing it on a slight uphill.
yoyoyo
If you fall to one side, start to point the wheel that way. So if you going to the left, bring the wheel round to the left. Do it little by little, as big movements will ruin your balance. Just go until you are balanced. Also look 5-6 feet ahead, not sure how but it helps loads. Looking down at your wheel doesn't help at all.But keep at it and eventually you'll crack it.
imhereithink
All you can really do is keep practicing, theres nothing wrong with moving a couple of inches to start with, what may help is try staying nice and loose and keep everything nice and smooth (harder than it sounds i know) it will come with time. What i like doing is trackstanding on a thin wall a couple of foot off the ground, that way you have to minimise your movement, otherwise you fall off Just practice and stick with it, and you'll be doin it in no time

Chris_P_Bacon
Lean your body weight over the front of the bars. When you turn the front wheel rotate your upper body with it slightly and keep your head up. Like someone said buy tricks & stunts, Hans Rey will show you the way
