Give Me Some Bmx Tricks To Learn :)

nothing wrong with a huffy - as long as its one of those cory nastazio models. I liked my one quite a lot, it's a very stable frame - i only switched cos it was getting badly damaged by my approach to concrete things.

the simple answer to the going over the back thing is to be more relaxed about the bunnyhop - you want to kind of manual into it rather than violently yanking the bars up like you would on a trials bike. Also - you're not going to backwheel so you don't want to be landing vertical.

as for the brakes - i'm told big pads like 2x4s are fine as long as everything is clean but that as soon as you get muck under them they become dangerously shite - dunno though, never tried them myself.

i use the grey £4 gusset pads, they're pretty soft and do a fairly good impression of a working brakepad - unless you fork out £20 on the pads you're not going to get close to trials brake performance (well, not for more than a couple of days at a time anyway).

I probably just mean a footjam tailwhip...Not really sure :$ Its the one where you ride along, jam your foot in the front wheel and kick the bike a full 360 degrees around and get back on the pedals. Ive just been out in the street trying a few things and im finding it really hard to do bunnyhop tricks as I seem to be too much over the backwheel (like its a trial bike!) and cant seem to balance out properly..It feels way too short!

You've got to roll your wrists forwards more.

If you check out these pics:

You can kinda see I've kept my arms out straight, but held my elbows up, and just tucked the back end up. That's all you've got to do. As you scoop it up, just roll your wrists forwards so you kinda nose it in slightly as you tuck the back end up. You'll find you'll sorta end up elbowing it out a bit like I've done it in the pic, but that's just 'cos you roll the wrists, basically... That's the main thing I found I needed to do to balance out my hops and not send 'em over the back :)

If flairs aren't good enough, toboggan, i think it's called. The one they knicked from Fmx,looks cool and not that hard i think.

That said, when I get to London and have a park within a 3 1/2 hour train ride of me at last, I'll probably be down Meanwhile quite a bit :P

Guessing i misread that.

Ok maybe it's not that. Maybe a motowhip or summet like that. I remeber seeing it at a bike show with the bmx'ers. Kinda like a tabletop but not.

And 3 and a half hours of train journey to get to a park is quite a long time. I meant misinterperated. >_<

we may be getting a bit ahead of ourselves with the flairs and flails you know :)

nosebonks are a good un - basically you just bunnyhop over something and nudge it with the front wheel on the way past - like a very tiny nose manual.

oh - and take your brakes off , I tried it for the first time last night and it's soo dangerous/ fun. you don't need tricks to make life exciting when you've got no brakes

Well I went to the skatepark today and had a little play. I learnt to bar spin on the flat :) I just went for it and was easier then I thought but pinching the seat is hurting my legs :(

My shiny new shadow conspiracy seat does that - it's very sexy but its a bit rough texturewise. My old furry one didn't hurt but it collapsed so I couldn't sit on it anymore :(
