David
Hey, I want to use my bmx more but I am unsure about which tricks to learn as I dont know many. I can already bunnyhop 180, nearly land footjam 360 tailwhips and bunnyhop a decent height. Any simple yet challenging tricks I can learn? I have a basic skate park to play on and street Thanks,Dave
mr ailsbury
bar spins?? tyre taps/wall ridesone footers/one handers, no footers, no handers. actually you might need some sort of dirt jumps to try these?ermmmm can't think of any more really... lol I don't ride bmx so I don't know how hard you'll fnd these like but they're things to try... Robwalker
Just browse through youtube looking at all the bmx videos and try there tricks out, pretty much the same with trials lol. Or you could be really imaginative and try and think of one.
Fishy
Stall on your back wheel to barspin/x-upI like them
RicH_87
x-ups, lookbacks, turndowns, table tops, all fairly similar, 360 bunnyhops, if you've got 180's down shouldn't be too difficult.wallrides like somone else said are uber fun.just go out and have fun, nosebonk a few walls, hop to manual, wallride to 180, don't think too hard about what trick to pull, just go out and jump some gaps, or hop some stairs.that's what's good about bmx, you can have fun just riding about. David
Id love to learn to bar spin but to put it simply im too scared hehe. Ive heard some people learn by grabbing their top tube and pinching the seat with your legs...any other tips? My bars look as if they will hit me aswell, yet ive cut them down to a "proper" bmx length.
RicH_87
trap your rear wheel in something and practice lifting the front and spinning the bars, once you've got that roll along and pratice throwing them half way. then its just a case of building up to throwing them all the way round, and eventually learning them with a hop.i haven't got them in a hop yet only in a manual, i gave up on them to be honest cos they are hard at first, but i plan on trying them out of a ramp so i don't have to concentrate on hopping and throwing, then building on that.bunnyhop crankflips are a good one too, i just rememberd, not many people do crankflips either so you get extra cool points. poopipe
him right ^^ bmxs are for riding fast at things you haven't tried yet grinding - learn to grind. You can grind everywhere and it makes the worlds bestest noise, it also scares japanese tourists and chav girls - which is excellent. Smith grinds are the best kind cos they look difficult but are in fact easier than icepick and toothpick grinds. Ooh also, grind up stuff cos its great fun and 180 into backwards ones, thats excellent (im still having issues with that). Basically, anything that ends or begins with a grind is a good thingIf we're talking learny stuff then your first step is to work on getting height out of ramps - riding trials turned me into a complete fag for that sort of thing, i'm starting to get my balls back but its taking a long time to get used to the speed again. David
When you lot do 180/360 bunnyhops do you pull the front wheel up first and twist like a normal bunnyhop or just turn flat if that makes sense. I seem to do them "flat" like 2 wheels at the same time..think its just from my trials riding..

BONGO
him right ^^ bmxs are for riding fast at things you haven't tried yet i rarely go fast just watch vids and see what you wanna do. Most crazy stuff involves things at smaller levels that beginners can learn, so take tricks apart and learn bit by bit. Thats my advice anyway. I find doing it 'American' means you can get a lot more height on 180s and 3's for hopping up stuff, and for gapping across stuff too, e.g. down stair sets or just over a gap.Currently learning fakie stuff at the moment, so half-cabbing up or down stuff, or learning to do fakie nollies off stuff and so on. All good fun
club_card
what the fecks a half cab?!
BONGO
what the fecks a half cab?! a half cab is a 180 FROM fakie to normal riding. Half cab is 180 to normal, full cab is a full 360 back to fakie, and then 540 cab obviously 540 to forwards riding from fakie.

Lee Cable
bunnyhop crankflips are a good one too, i just rememberd, not many people do crankflips either so you get extra cool points.Make sure you have crankflips dialed completely before you try these. I mean being able todo them not looking. Best way to do bunny hop crankfkips IMO, is to manual and crankflip. As you spin the crank back, put your weight forward. They only come really small at the start......but after practise you can have them up and down stair sets

Try to learn them on banks it's a crazy advantage for the future to progress by learning on an angle (Y)bongo.

I used to be able to do the straight ones sometimes (about 1 in 5 tries) but I keep getting tangled in my brake cable and landing on my arse since I changed frames. When I do land them its usually feet to frame and then back to pedals once I'm ready to ride out.

Ive just been out in the street trying a few things and im finding it really hard to do bunnyhop tricks as I seem to be too much over the backwheel (like its a trial bike!) and cant seem to balance out properly..It feels way too short! David
Found some very good tutorial videos: I think these will help me loads. While im here, are odyssey 2x4 pads any good? Ive got some standard crap pads on my huffy bmx (No laughing =P) with a crappy black rim.Dave
