Loads of dents , but have been straightened out again and never crack it must be almost ayear old.

Who built the rim for you, mine was done by Tart and its great spokes have nevere come lose never bent it.

If you have bent spose thats suggests to me they might not have been tight.

Cheers

I`ve had my ronnie about 9 months now got loads of dents n that but no major cracks or owt.

Was built by tarty spokes have never come loose or owt .I`ve battered the rim aswell and still hasent cracked.I`ve only ground it twice though , think thats all it will take , best off not grinding ronnie`s for them to last.(Y)

so is the reggie better? i thought damon was using a ronnie and not destroying it :S

His is un-drilled, there much stronger, but I don't really see how.

But meh.

I might try another ronnie, but once it dents the tire just falls out, and hard psi holds me back.

The undrilled are stronger but not the sidewalls as they are still the same height :P Alex dx 32 is what u want, tartybikes sell them for 25 pounds, alternativly theres the planet-x bmf for sale at chainreaction cycles for 30. Give one of them a go, with the smaller sidewalls there harder to bend (in theory), also increase the amount of wind as said in a previous post, hope this helps.

Alex dx 32 is what you want.

You make me chuckle. Alex dx32's are seriously rubbish my mate used to ride on one until he snappped it doing a six foot drop  and no he isn't fat, he didn't land hard and he only just rimmed it i think. What you want to get is a echo rim they are the bee's knee's they are very strong and very light! And also i have snapped a ronnie, well they rim bent to an oval shape

haha are you joking dx32's are good. i had three dents about 2 inch long in mine and i ran high tyre pressure. i may be a fairly harsh rider but them rims are ****.

ive also cracked my ronnie rim aswell, and ive found out that when they dent the tyre pops off very easily. im thinking of a try all next but im limited to rims as i have a profile 36 hole.

You are stupid then. The DX32's are awesum rims. Your mate is obviously an elephant if ACTUALLY SNAPPED IT. I find that seriously hard to believe. As for the Echo rims they turned out to be poop. Sorry to burst your bubble but, the shape of the rim meant that the force on the side walls was contained in the side walls instead of being channled down into the spokes. This meant that they dented really easily - oops! Why else would the some of our best riders stop using them so quickly after buying them (Stan Shaw, Adam Read, Tom Rigg etc.)

So yeah, basically you are wrong, and Cap (who knows his shit by the way) is right :)

if the chrome's gone down to the copper underneath (i'm assuming that's what you mean by flaky) then the chrome's dead as a braking surface, you'll get some more life out of it by grinding it (as done by steve-a) and it won't affect the strength too badly if you only grind it once or twice (Y)
