downhill_rob2@hotmail.com
I was a little like this...Try getting a pallet that doesnt snap first of all Then try to preload the front end a little more. Then just fly your body forward and put a hugh pedal kick in at the same time... then just try to get the back end of the bike up as high as your can, then as forward as you can, so that you land on the wall...hard to explain lol

downhill_rob2@hotmail.com
yeah lol i did demolish that pallet , what do you mean when you say preload the front?Lower the front end a little bit more, and lean back so the bike doesnt want to throw you over the bars Then just pull your body forward REAL hard, and put a massive pedal kick in.should work... worked for me anyways

ramps
Ride for fun not for inches. All good and well but, I can't see any fun in trials when I am not improving, and I am sure most people agree, he doesnt seem to be riding to a be the world record holder but there is nothing wrong with him wanting to be a bit better. AAny way, if it makes you feel any better I can gap about 5 foot maximum and I allways look like a right clown when riding I seem to exagerate moves too much and be twisted all ove my bike doing the shittest lines. Mabe you are doing like this and trying tooo hard. I didn't watch the clip because my computers being gay.
MikeCottTrials
its no fun when you cant do something because you cant gap far enough or go high enough
Mark W
As we all know now, it's not cool to ride for inches - it's all about the degrees, right street riders? As for the gapping - it looks like you're relying more on the pedal stroke and not your body movement. When you preload and drop the front/bring back the pedal, really exagerate your body movements. Move your body down and over the BB sorta area, then really spring your upper body up and forwards as you leave the edge and kick. You've got to really bring your upper body up 'cos you need the height to clear the gap. Also, getting further forwards means you're getting more momentum to clear the gap. You weigh more than your bike, so getting you moving gets your bike moving. Then, just move the whole bike forwards as you come in to land. If you just extend your arms and legs forwards and away from you, it generally means you can cover more distance as opposed to holding yourself back to land, and kicking the back end down (if that makes any sense ). Basically, I mean move the whole bike forwards when you get nearer the landing, don't just kick the back end down.

Not really sure what you mean by "degrees".But as a street rider i don't particularly measure stuff i usually hit it at about a hundred miles an hour and hope i make it.Learning to control your bike takes time and effort, nobody learnt do do this overnight.Just keep practicing what people tell you and you'll get there soon.
