downhill_rob2@hotmail.com
Shut up.No one cares if they are looking the same...All the company's are trying to get the strongest design (all gonna be like the same)
greavey
I heard from a very good professional trials rider that the rules on the amount of gears on trials bikes is changing. Ashton bikes are holding out on putting a new frame on the market with vertical drop outs a few months until this issue is clarified. Maybe we will be seing a single speed world Edited July 24, 2006 by greavey
flipkickbs
Shut up. No one cares if they are looking the same... All the company's are trying to get the strongest design (all gonna be like the same) Calm down rocky. Just because pete wright does get slated for some stuff does not mean you should slate his every word, this is a potentially interesting and constructive thread if you didn't reply like a four and a half year old retard. On topic, i agree with a lot of frame designs now blending into the same kind of look, i think there should be a bit more versatility in frames now a days, but obviously with the amount of sales these manufacturers get with existing designs, there probably seems like no need for change in their eyes. Koxx seem to be the wannabe pioneers at the moment bringing out what seems to be a new prototype each week, some of them with potential, and others that are just plain ridiculous. Theres only so much change that can be done to dropouts, but i'm sure as frame technology progresses we will see change. So that could be him rididng with them or him ridding and creat trials frame probs both stock primary then a mod. If the gears where to change it wouldn;t matter as look at Revell with there dropouts! The current Koxx i love and want so badly
Tommy d
Doesn't anyone else think it would be much better if all dropouts were intentionally the same? It would be easier to get replacements, they could be cheaper if they were produced in bulk, and maybe this would help in making them of a higher quality? Be listening bike companies! Be listening bike companies!Although you are right and i totally agree, there is also the fact that a dropout is usually designed to match the theme for the rest of the frame. Some frames would just not suit a generic dropout, especially if the frame was being otherwise innovative like the new koxx frames, a generic onza t-rex/coust styled rear dropout being welded onto the new mono-piece design frame (unofficially known as the koxx kamel) would look utterly ridiculous. So although its a good idea for us riders its not neccessarily the best idea for the manufacturers or for the look of the frame, which in the end is gonna have to appeal to us for us to buy it.I have always wanted to see a dropout designed like a spikey fish fin or something unusual like that...
