N Roach
hey people,I have got a t-pro 05 with problems with the bottom bracket area, recently my bb has been creaking so i bought a 127.5mm UN53 off chainreactioncycles, saturday i fitted the new bb, all went ok, abit loose fit. Today when i got back from riding i sore that the bb had come loose, so off came the arms and i took the bb out to check it over, when i took it out there were thin metal rings that look like they had come from the frames thread, cleaned it all up and the bb all looked good so i placed the bb through the frame part into the other cup and started to tighten the bb, when the cup got tight to the frame it kept spinning, so i got the bb out again and put the original bb back in, it went in fine, and i took it for a ride, there were signs of loosening again. my fortsThere is two things i think it could be 1)I put grease on the threads (helps it come un-done) :$ 2)the threads have gone! Q's-I need your expertise to guide me on what i should do?ALSO Are there to different size thickness shells?-If the threads have gone, then where and how can i get them re-threaded?Help people Edited July 25, 2006 by chocolate_bikes
Danny
Where did you get the t-pro? There were a few t-pros knocking about that had wrongly machined bb shells so required a BB with a larger thread. Maybe mike or someone can spread some light onto this? Sponge
I did read something on supercycles' ebay and stuff that some T-Pros had an 'oversized' bottom bracket shell thread and came with a special oversize taper BB. Are these the 'faulty' ones?

Lawnmowerman
Just say youve bought the frame and it's f**ked up. As long as the frame number matches the faulty batch I dont see why they wont replace it.

N Roach
I have just taken bb out and the threads look good, but the old bb had a little movement, i think it was down to that as when i fort the bb was coming loose, (holding the crank arms, then pushing and pulling to feel movement)is it best to have the bb tight or really tight? ManxTrialSpaz
Can't help with your problem but I can say that the serial number is on the metal plate the bash+rubber block sits on.
