TheFabricator
were trying a twin 3/32 chain setup on a stock bike. adds a little weight but i doubt it will snap and gives you bigger balls.
adamtrials
Not sure what the point of that post was, there is no questions and no real info given...It was tryed a few years ago, never really took off as it adds loads of weight. TheFabricator
just throwing it out there to see what you think. dont get too obsessed with the weight thing you probably weigh loads more than when you started. its about safety and ive seen plenty of you lads take a nose dive through a snapped chain. Si-man
Pics would help, how you set it up etc.Didnt really think this through before posting did you...
mat hudson
how were you thinking about tensioning? did you have to splay your mech/tensioner cage and put another jokey wheel in? its a good idea, i was having a think about somthing like it, you'd have to be well unlucky to snap a chain with that setup. matt rushton
I was thinking about it before but then i thought it was a waste of money although all i'd need is a new right crank and a new chain because i have a try-all hub and they have space for 2 fixed sprokets so i'd take a sproked off one off my old wheels. myte try it wen i start work and can afford to but at moment i can't. sorry for boring you. matt rushton
yoyoyo
Wasn't there a guy in Bristol used to ride a dual chain system.Anyone remember who?
TheFabricator
rear sprockets ride on a hope using a single speed conversion fronts are bolt on and tensioner is a one off with two jocky wheels
nmt_oli
has been done sucessfully, someone even managed to get 3 working gears!if you dont mind the weight then cool, but i would personally stick to a single beefy chain.
Si-man
was in Mbuk years ago, some1 on a giant did it
chumba
i dont see much point in having 2 chains running if you get a beefy enough chain you should be ok, but if you dont mind the weight then fine good idea . ages ago i was thinking about running 2 maguras on the back as in mbuk a while ago but the added weight jus doesnt help.Good idea hope it works well for you.
