Robwalker
Ok, so im fed up with front page, flash looks wayyyyyyy too complicated and i dont want to learn how to use them purely because of the fact that i hate them and have no interest.Just wondering if there are any other website editing programmes? yoyoyo
Freewebs or Piczo. Only joking. There is a program called MX Dreamweaver or something. We used it in school for It, you can use code, normally, or both on a splitscreen.Only problem is it's quite expensive, but i'm sure you can acquire it. Can't remember who makes it either. CBProductions
It's macromedia ,I would suggest just reading up on coding that way you understand how, what, where and why. If your not a fan of that then get a trial of Macromedia, Flash doesn't have to be used to create a nice site.
poopipe
macromedia (now adobe) make itit's called dreamweaver MX - its not cheap but it's powerful the demo's on the website and you can buy it online (by that I mean download a crack) easy enoughit's all right for you kids but real men use vi
Simon
MX = old.Get 8.Or, get MX, use that for a while, then upgrade to 8 so you can appreciate the immense difference. But seriously. i've not found anything wrong with Dreamweaver 8 yet. It suggests CSS, highlights invalid code, hell, it even validates. You can collapse and expand code, wrap text, and theres more keyboard shortcuts.I've never ever used design view, so can't really comment on that, but i'd imagine it to be as good as what i've seen in code view.Vi/Vim is fine if you want to look cool. Its in-practical and time consuming. Unless you are editing online, then its excellent, but for offline editing, or local editing where you are starting from scratch, or heavily hacking old code, its just a glorified notepad. Max Quinn
For anyone who wants a legit version of dreamweaver and is a student you can get a student copy of studio 8 for £70. This includes the newest dreamweaver, flash, fireworks, contribute and flash paper.Qualification criteria:Students must be enrolled, full time, in a degree-granting program at an acceptable Education Institution (being a bona fide university or college -- including community, junior and vocational colleges or other further education colleges -- that grants degrees requiring not less than the equivalent of two (2) years of full time study). Are there any catches to this? Seems incredibly cheap.Amazon Link
Dai the Socket
Nah £80's about right.I use Dreamweaver 8 and it's pretty good I use it on split and code modes only really, but from what I see in Split the design mode looks alright. Doesn't read some css stuff ALL the time but they're okay in browsers.
