anzo
With only 158 days to go...Or 22 and a half weeks...That time has come, once again...Chistmas shopping. MY.GOD do I hate it. Although you may think this is a useless topic, it isn't. Yet again I'll live all the shopping until Chistmas Eve, running around Nottingham like a complete dickhead as usual.Although now I'm 18 the Christmas 'buzz' had worn off...to be honest it did wear off many years ago...but oh well. But this year I'm really going to try my best and get drunker than I've ever been and try and be cheerful...hence this topic.I don't usually get 'a lot' for Christmas basically because I'm too old and everything I want, I buy; resulting in approximately 10 hobbies (bike trials, motorbike trials, golf, fishing (went once and got all the tackle...never used), computers, football (playing it), tennis, paintballing, shooting, remote controlled helicopters ect ect). So yea, but to the topic is; 1. How to you feel about Christmas, 2. What do you want for Christmas and 3. What do you buy other people? Simon
What i want from christmas is for people to stop caring about it so early in the year.
Dan6061
1. Christmas is good, becuase of the whole point of it. Giving, and recieveing. But then again, it is bad. Eating a tonne of Turkey, it being cold, brakes freezing etc.2. I haven't thought about what I want, It's the middle of July! 3. I buy anything I see for other people. If I think they'll like it, I'll buy it for them.Makes shopping more fun if you don't know what you're there for.

yoyoyo
1. How to you feel about Christmas, 2. What do you want for Christmas and 3. What do you buy other people?1.Not so sure now, before it was the time of year when i got most money at one time, so it was always new frame/wheel time, but i always had to save up as well because i was only young. But now i have a job so it will be just like another payday. And then there's the carol singing, highlight of my year. Joke by the way. 2. Probably car related, as i'm hopefully getting my mini in a few months.3.I always try to get my brother and sister something that is really nice. And whatever my ma & pa ask for. I like seeing the look when my brother gets something he isn't expecting. Also giving him one of my old cd's so he thinks im a scab, then giving him a proper present. I mean in general. Its bloody ages away. I wont start caring until December, at the earliest. I guess the whole excitement surrounding christmas has almost, if not completely gone for me. yoyoyo
Wow, 'a scab' is that Somerset slag? Is your dad into The Wurzels?I guess it is, i thought it was a universal thing. My relatives up north use it.And yes my dad is, he's the lead singer. Edit: He's not actually into the Wurzels. Joe_Elding
Unless something goes dramatically wrong with my bike in the next 5months or whatever, I'm gonna be asking for a Camera, fuji s5600 or something similar...
anzo
I mean in general. Its bloody ages away. I wont start caring until December, at the earliest. I guess the whole excitement surrounding christmas has almost, if not completely gone for me. It'll be here quicker than you think, lol. This whole idea came up as I sat watching TV at about 5am this morning getting ready for work...and a Parks Christmas advert came on and as I thought as I was sitting in my boxers, sweating like a pig at about 30 degrees...soon enough, I'll be sat freezing to death.I remember when I was a little anzo, and Christmas really was l33t back then. All the things you wanted were far more realistic than now, no Xbox or shit like that, you wanted something that was the craze then and cost around £10, say a yoyo or something. And the stuff in general was much more better, little wood working sets, make your own sweets (Dr. Horrible I think it was called)...things like that. Now its just get a PC game and disappear for the rest of the day...sucks.I remember not being able to sleep when I was about 6. Looking at the clock and thinking 'f**k me, its 1am, I'm never going to sleep' (in a less verbal manner). And now I'm sleep for about an hour a night on my weekends...how things change. And the day really did go quick, before you knew it it was really late...but now it just drags as you sit watching Oliver Twist for the 250,000th time in your lifetime with a beer thinking 'jesus, when did I grow old'. Although I think that 'Chirstmas Feeling' is bought back as soon as you have kids and you can be a kid again and take over their toys.Last years Christmas sucked, my ex was away for like a week before Christmas, but I saw her Christmas night and spent the night at hers, which was cool. Played some cool game (called Talisman) with her, her bro and her mum. So...yea...Christmas...ermm...rock on.
poopipe
aaaw, little anzo I'm quite looking forward to it - it'll be the first christmas in 7-8 years I'll be with missus (normally she's in Greece with her family) and of course the wee one should be out & about by then which beats any presents I'm likely to get I hadn't really thought about it before now but this could well be the bestest christmas ever - even if i am completely knackered. yay ! Greetings
I'm not really interested in recieving anything, as you wrote - we buy what we need ourselves. So it's a bit different now than it was say 5 years ago. Then I was wanting to get as many cool presents as it was possible, now I'm more interested in giving things to others and making them happy. It's a pity really I've now got one person less to make happy but meh, it'll change. I start thinking about what to get people roughly at the beginning of December, but can't be bothered to go to these stupid huge shopping places and buy anything. So, yes - I get them on the 23rd and I always meet loads of my friends doing the same. Advantage? "What did you buy for your mum?" "Oh cool, I'll get the same".Sharing ideas ***

CBProductions
Christmas for me has always been quite poo as we are a step family and always end up arguing about something or someone. So its about ten mins of normality then back to the shizwhack. I dont normally get many presents, just bits and bobs for my family and g.f an cards for friends e.t.c and workmates. I want to do something different this year If I can but I think its going to be spent in work doing the panto run (dick wittington this year) and thinking of the amount of pay for the get out. I've always wanted to go to greenland for some reason or canada during winter / xmas time. I do think christmas has been commercialised too much these days with everyone going on about the xmas shopping figures.
anzo
(normally she's in Greece with her family)Mmmm, slippery.Anyways, big awwwwwwwwwww for poopipe whos going to be with his family at Christmas Me and my neighbour have a cocktail tradition. Basically mix everything in the house (usually quite a lot), set fire to it and down it...normally leave a nice 'my gut is rotting' feeling for Christmas morning
yoyoyo
With the way things are going though we might not have christmas for long. Seeing as we only have winter lights now, not christmas lights. Bloody political correctness.
poopipe
winter lights is probably more a accurate description - given that they tend to go up in october.
anzo
I bought one of those white trees and put it up in my bedroom...it stayed up until late March and I only put it away because it fell over...Anyways, it left white 'flakes' all over my flooring so I, with my witty humour, called it an 'excema tree'
