chrisjones54321
Hi,Im trying to get my mod bike up to trials spec without spending a bomb on new bits or a new bike.Im running three peice cranks (24 seven) and can only manage to get a 32 tooth ring with a standard DMR spider. Is there a way of going smaller without buying new cranks? Ive heard of micro drive spiders but dont know anything about them. Any ideas?? CurtisRider
i used to run 3 pieces with a ddg bash, basically a circular plate of alu, which fits on like a 3 piece sprocket and had 5 threaded holes to take a 5 arm 20/22t ring still got it if you are interested in it

Luke Rainbird
I used to run a bashguard for 3 piece, which had a integrated spider for small rings (I was/still am running a 24th ring) however, I stripped the threads and am now running a standard kind of spider with a 24 tooth ring on the inner setting. Room for a bash if I can get hold of one, and works fine
lardo_69
hey i had the same problem on the bike that i am building now. basically i am using gusset pigmys and all i did was buy a BMX 24th ring and i run a 18th on the back i am hoping it will work quite well. this ratio gearing gives somthing in between a 22-18 and a 22-16 which is kind of nice i think. A way to work it out is to divide the back tooth by the front. your answer should be lower then 1. You can get rings as low a 23th but these a rare and only just come out on the market. they are also expensive looking at about £60. my 24th cost me £
