downhill_rob2@hotmail.com
Hi people, took my bike out of my shed this morning, brake was crap, so i took the brake off, and sanded pads down and ave rim a nice new grind...Then when i was setting brake back up, the pistons at the calipers were out (asin TPA was on quite abit) so i made sure the TPA was fully off, and the pistons were still out the piston in the lever was stuck in though So i got my bleed kit, and took the bleed bolt from the caliper off, and whacked the syringe on the end, and forced water in, it poper the piston back out at the lever...I thought it was ok, then i pulled the lever, and the pistons at the calipers were stuck out again and at the lever the piston was stuck in again BTW, i was doing this in really hot weather, in the sun, so might the water have been too hot?Im trying to cool the brake down and give it a new bleed soon...But does anyone what what might be wrong? Gaz M
loosen the bolt that clamps your lever blade into the lever?
Mark W
My lever did the same thing, and I just solved it by getting a new one... I think that if you do something along the lines of popping the piston and seals out of the lever, maknig sure there are no rapage marks on the inside of the cylinder and then reassemble it it should be OK... That is assuming you mean that the lever was back as usual, but the piston stuck in on the lever, not that the lever stayed in as well? If the lever stays in, just loosen the lever pivot bolt. King C
Basically the cylinder gets stuck and by pumping it, it free's itself up but if thats not good enough then thats when the grease comes into play.

Mark W
get a decent v problem solved. These pictures are just a selection of people who have two things in common. One: they are all some of the best trials riders around. Two: They all run Magura HS33 rim brakes on the back of their bikes. If Maguras were shit, and people should all run V-brakes, why the f**k do you think that they have all been running Maguras for at least the past year? In many cases out of those riders, it's well over 5 years they've been using them. If you don't have anything that is actually accurate or useful for the person who's started this thread, why post a reply like that?
