Gu Mod Riders, Rims?

Heres the main question. If i have a wider rim will it increase the overall width of the tyre?

I'm asking because I have fairly low tyre clearance on each side of the tyre about 2mm each side between chainstay/chain. And this is with a fairly thin ronnie rim, yet also with rim I find it very difficult to set up the brake close enough to the rim without using the TPA.

My ronnie is totally f**ked now, denting on pretty much everything so It's time for a new rim.

To solve the brake set-up problem I'm looking at a wider rim, yet the only rims wider are 48mm, which is a whole centimetre wider, which would solve the brake set up problems, yet would it make the tyre rub on the frame? It's the new echo tyre by the way which is fairly thin compared to my creepy, but theres still only 2-3mm clearance on the chainstays, so what I don't want to do is have my tyre rubbing.

Is there any others with a GU mod that gets away with a wide rim? Long GU if that helps.

Sorry for the fairy long-winded post but ahh well. (Y)

It shouldn't do because the actually bit of the tire which touches the ground is 2.5 and it should stay like that. Theres nothing to change the width of the top is there. :ermm: Not sure though.

I had a Try-all rim in my Gu, with a Try-all on, and its was good, enough clearance, wouldn't fit a Monty 2.7 in their though.

Me mate has it now, with a Maxxis on a ronnie, in, and its about the same maybe a few mm less
