Vee Brake Mod

A bit OT but you could buy a 4 bolt magura frame

and use a heatsink adapter if you were looking at running vees

I've got a Echo lite with 4 bolt mounts and one of the mounts dee threaded.

why do you need to see pics?

and why are you unable to search?

ayway. ashton mods have them, and lots of stocks in the bike pics section, including my one.

It'll be nice to have a look at the frames first. Plus I said 'links' not 'pics'.

I did search and found nothing what so ever.

I said mod not stock.

Why are you just here to have a dig at me? (N)

Maybe because I prefer vbrakes?

Any one know of any 20" frames that use vee brake's.

I know there is a Echo lite with vee's.

Links would be good as well.

Cheers (Y)

Onza T-Vee

Ashton Justice 20"

if you can't be arsed to type those into google and do a search, then there's no hope for you - so don't expect other people to do the work for you!

I did...

Try typing in 'mod with vee brake' or 'mod v brake' etc etc. And see what you come up with. Even if you change 'v' to 'vee' or 'mod' to '20" it doesn't make any difference.

If I knew what I was looking for I wouldn't of asked and like I said I did find an Echo.

I did find alot of stuff though when I typed in 'heatsink vee'. Which I didn't know excisted untill Simpson said.

type "t-vee", "onza", "superbikes" or "ashton" into google

(jeeeesh - how did people ever exist before forums? oh - that's right - they went looking for things themselves!) <_<

To be honest, there wouldnt even be a forum if no one asked questions, so give the guy a break.

The only good frame with vee mounts is the echo lite, so unless you want that frame, then you will need some adaptors, go for the heatsink ones.

Most of the V mount mods are low-end/beginner stuff (although that doesn't necesarily mean that they're shit). But I don't like the idea of 4 bolt mounts either. Steel bolt going into a short ali thread? Asking for trouble. Gimme a steel canti stud with a big ass longer (and thicker) bolt though it any day. It won't flex as much and I've never EVER heard of someone stripping the thread in a canti stud. 4 bolts, however...

I debated the heatsink adaptor thing when I was looking at Stock stuff, but for the above reasons went with standard canti mounts.

Having said that, I'm sure there's loads of people on here who use said adaptors with no problems whatsoever. The problem ain't with the adaptors, it's with the entire 4-bolt mount design.
