eskimo
I've never found anyone on the forum with the same problem as I have. I've searched and read most of the posts but still no-one.The Eno on the front moves in an oval shape in a way. So the chain goes loose then tight then loose etc etc. I know it's a common problem on 80% of bikes especially with bent sprockets to blame. But why does the Eno do this? It's just a pain in the ass. So i've had my Eno for a month or two and am now selling it just because of this reason. Edited July 14, 2006 by eskimo
Lawnmowerman
Check your rear cog for wear.
CBProductions
The reason you havent come across it is because most people with an eno check an maintain their chain alignment , tension , and check for cog wear as trialsboy mentioned its not the freewheel to blame. So I have no idea why you are selling it. Give your bike some more attention and love and it will respond. Mine has been fine but I still own a previous second hand one from someone who didnt maintain all of the aboev so it was oval.
eskimo
The rear wheel, cog, freewheel, cranks, bb are all brand new virtually! It was like it as soon as I put it on. I do look after my bike but I don't know why this is happening. When I spin the freewheel I can see that it is oval and its brand new! But why? Lawnmowerman
Get a new chain and check your chainline.

that NBR dude
Dont worry, its happened with me on 2 different sets of cranks with 2 different ENOs. I dont really know why, but yes, as you say, its very annoying to get a perfect chain tension. Its got nothing to do with the chain line, sprockets or anything, its the actual freewheel. You dont have Echo cranks by any chance do you??I never had a problem on my Monty cranks, but when I put the ENO on a set of old Echos, it suddenly started doing it. I then swapped my old ones for a set of newer ones with a bashguard and an ENO on it already, and the ENO that came on that does the same thing. that NBR dude
Yeh I am running the Eno of a pair of Echo's. What is going on with Echo stuff??I wouldnt worry about it. Theres nothing actually wrong with the freewheel itself. I think it has something to do with the threads on the crank or something.
CBProductions
I had it happen on my monty cranks but the freewheel an cranks were 2nd hand my new one is fine Edited July 14, 2006 by CBProductions
PaRtZ
Isn't it something to do with the screw threads that are on it? including the lockring thread?I got told that was why my acs "wobbled" when i spun it backwards
Jaffacakes
Mine does it aswell, never really thought anything of it though. The problem I have with mine is my lockring coming un-done and as a result it skips
Mark W
It could just be your cranks are made slightly, slightly off. As in the freewheel threads are a fraction off, and as such when you screw your freewheel on and rotate it, it's not moving in a perfectly circular way, giving you that problem? Freewheel driveshells ovalise over time, and some even come ovalised already just for shits 'n' giggles, but it's not really anything to worry about. Just make sure when you set your chain tension up you're doing it for the tightest point of the freewheel and it should be OK.
Barbra
i think what you've done is bent your bb slightly. i did it to mine the other day, i ran the chain too tight and it bent the bb slightly, so it went tight then slack then tight then slack etc. I changed it for my old bb from my t mag and it works wonders!
